OFFICIAL I HAVE A NEW (FILM RELATED) TOY THREAD!!

Brian ...you did an old lady out of 50p...shame....:nono:

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

serious note....searching for original Perfect hood for 24mm Sigma SWII

found in the States for £12 + $6 p&p

''link''

Thanks but the sigma hood is rubbish as the petals can move round, the best type is the one that screws and locks the petals in place.

Indeed and I started bidding for one until I realised they aint cheap...these are cheap and lock the hood so it can't move, I'll have to waste some B/W film to see if it's any good or needs filing down.

Bought quite a few over the years for 10p-50p, I still like those old IBM ones (used on my 2nd computer)...nice click and heavy so don't move easily.

I think it was the... high definition grubbiness that was the cause for his post

You're right it's disgusting I'll have to put the keyboard in the dish washing machine to remove the soup, tea, coffee, gravy and vomit ;)

Got this lot for £1.50, I was honest with the seller and said it was jammed and it might only need a battery. but would take a gamble if very cheap...well she said "£2" and I said "would you take £1.50" and she said "go on then".
Well it is in excellent condition and it was the battery. Poor shots cos I'm not very good with a digital camera or this Canon Ixus 870 IS is crap.

Petri MF-1 m42 and Vivitar extension tubes:-

Well developed a B/W test film and the Petri is working ok at all speeds.......now I've won a Yashica FR1 with nifty fifty for £11.32 inc postage to go with the 28mm Yashica lens (about £6) I bought a week or so ago....now to get some Contax lenses for a few quid each

Well I ran off a roll of HP5+ through the Ikonta at the weekend, just need to get it processed now.

Next acquisition is this:

BJG_4418.jpg

An Ensign Ful-Vue II. Just a very basic, one shutter speed, one aperture camera with basic focussing and a mental design with a funky viewfinder. Cleaned it up and sorted out the shutter, just need to add a disc over the film release knob on the other side to ensure it's light tight.

The Ful-Vue is a pretty funky looking camera.. possibly a bit Marmite, but I love the look of them..

My latest aquisition arrived this morning. Near Mint Carl Zeiss Distagon 40mm f4 CF T* FLE Distagon with Hasselblad 93mm UV filter.

Oh how I so love BST ;) Threw off all the ebay snipe engines and I got it for less than £750 delivered

Ed - that has to be the bargain of the century! Who in their right mind would sell that lens for that money? :D

Definitely Marmite, but funky nonetheless!

There's a extremely funky looking red Ful-Vue Super on the 'bay at the moment.. I don't suppose the innards of a Ful-Vue I or II (120) would transfer into a Super (620)..

Yeah, I spotted that too. Sadly the inner workings are completely different and re-rolling 120 film onto 620 spindles is not my idea of fun!

Yes, I was well chuffed, it came from a working professional who was selling all his Hasselblad kit.

I was a bit miffed when earlier a mint CF 120mm Macro went for £460 and my snipe bid failed due to clocks going forward for BST. But I must admit that winning this lens for so little (comparatively) made up for it somewhat.

I won a minty (apart from the normal marks on the bayonet for the hood) 150mm CF with genuine hood the following day for £295 too.

Well the Yashica FR-1 arrived today and it looks like the whole camera is made out of brass (you can see where the black paint has worn away) as it's heavy and I think Yashica tied up with Contax as this camera seems more smooth and expensive. Everything works except the film counter erm it would seem the top has to come off to fix it unless someone knows another way.

Yep - just wind the film on and don't worry about it, it'll stop at the end of the roll. And to cover not knowing how many frames are left, carry a spare film. Did this for best part of 18 months with my (cough, spit) Practika MTL3 until I threw it down an alp

It's a Practika. If the MTL3 is as solidly built as my old Nova, I take it it survived?

:D

It fell off a Bivi Ledge, and it's first bounce was approx. 250m straight down onto solid rock. The second one was a bit longer, and I'm not quite sure after that

erm I hope the MTL3 only had a Domiplan lens on it
But this FR1 is the first camera I've ever had where the film counter doesn't work....it is handy as I often switch films to different cameras and need to know how many frames to wind on.

Another Ensign pitched up today, this time a Pocket Twenty folder:

Got a Balda Baldix en-route too, oh and a Medis rangefinder, and a Zeiss Ikophot meter. Must stop now, must stop now, must stop now...:help:

 it had whatever 50mm F1.8 lens that Kay's Catalogue were knocking them out with round about 1978 - bought it from the next door neighbours catalogue on the drip, because my wages from the 3 part-time jobs were all going on bits for my racing bike at the time. Hey - I was only 15...

You're a mine of info...any idea how to make this case look more presentable, I think black boot polish is out :D Gloss paint?

If it's anything like Canon cases of a similar vintage,* a new bag for everyday shooting is probably the best solution. :-/

* Cardboard base with fabric on top and leatherette that turns to dust after 30 years.

The case is quite sound and flexible like leather.....I've been thinking and maybe black shoe dye would work.

There used to be a product on the market called "Scuff Cote" iirc. It was a kind of Leather Paint, which was intended to cover the scuffed out toes of kids shoes. If that's still available, it MIGHT just do the trick ???

Worth knowing ....... but I've found some black leather dye in the shoe thingies drawer and then thought "let's try everything" and used black shoe polish next, then finally leather oil as it might be some sort of leather.

Finally I got my hands on a Voigtlander 40mm f1.4 for the R3A (thanks Rob:thumbs:)
