My sigma petal hood says in white engaving "Sigma perfect hood" :lol:...but the problem is:- it clips to the inside of the lens like a lens cap, but can swivel round so that doesn't help either :thumbsdown:

continuing with my ''try another maker idea'' --at 24mm, you could use the Nikon HN-1 hood [52mm thread] for the Nikon 24mm f2.8

lots on eBay - cheap too

put a stupid £18 max bid on one - went to work - came home --- WON at £8.01 hahahahaha....:clap::clap::clap::clap:

do I feel brilliant or what.....

Move your finger over the edge of the hood and see if it shows in the viewfinder ;) ...and I've put in a bid for a Nikon hood :wave:
 
Just bought Yashica DSB 28mm f2.8 for £5.70 inc postage erm but I don't have a Yashica camera :cuckoo: Why this stupidity when I have 13 other various 28mm lenses? Well you know how you can believe everything you read on the net :suspect: and they say the Yashica 28mm has something special....................:suspect:

Now to find a decent Yashica for peanuts.
 
anyone has a minolta MD lens they don't use ? I'm looking for 40mm and upwards.

also will the wireless transmitters for flashguns work on x700 ?

My latest aquisition arrived this morning. Near Mint Carl Zeiss Distagon 40mm f4 CF T* FLE Distagon with Hasselblad 93mm UV filter.

Oh how I so love BST ;) Threw off all the ebay snipe engines and I got it for less than £750 delivered :clap:

It is something I am possibly looking at. I have had the compensation letter from my solicitors this morning about the car crash I had last year (that why I've not been on here as much recently) I think I deserve some kind of new toy :rules: I have the MF enlarger so I think I might be just behind you!

Behind me? Hell dude...I've bought the camera but I've never taken a film shot in my life, lol. I feel I have alot of learning to do before I approach my proper film project :bang:

oh ! yeah ! that one.

I'm actually quite happy with my kit lens.

so maybe try the 90mm or which ever was the kit for mamiyas , or the 110mm .

gotta love the FOV the 90mm gives you. it like the whole world through the prism or viewfinder.

I'm intending to shoot torso and head and shoulders portrait work with it, I was thinking that the 180mm might suit me? What are your views on that?
 
Well, I took delivery of a nice tidy Bronica ETRSi this morning, Bog standard kit - WLF, single 120 roll back, 75mm f2.8 PE lens. Amazingly, for once, I got my priorities right, and instead of spending the next 2 hours taking photographs of it for in here, I loaded a roll of Velvia 100F up and went for a walk around the local sculpture park. Really enjoyed shooting old school - handheld meter and a big(ish!) camera on a tripod :)

Edit: still no shots, I decded to Soup the Velvia instead... It's currently hanging in the bathroom drying. First looks are promissing though - all seem to have come out without obvious artifacts, and exposures look fairly on the money :) Hopefully they'll have dried thoroughly by this evening, and I may be able to post something as proof!

Well - the Velvia dried out enough to run it though the scanner. First couple of frames were full of dust - really should have taken the compressed air can to the bronny before shooting anything, but by the end of the roll things were looking up. Demo Shots here :)
 
Finally, here it is!

The body I bought as spares to repair my other Super A turned out to be in far better condition than the original, stuck some batteries in and away it goes! Just need to clean the mirror.

What's reslly interesting is that with a 50mm f1.7 SMC-M on the front, it's identical in size to my GH1 and 14-45mm! Without lenses it's actually slightly smaller!

Very small, with the focus extended all the way it's still shorter than the focus ring of the 50mm 1.7. Haven't had a chance to evaluate it's performance yet, I need a digital adapter so I can go pixel peeping at it!

It is indeed, feels lovely. I'm on the hunt for an SMC-A 50mm now, I got an SMC-M because I wasn't paying attention on ebay! :lol:

Still I mainly got it to use stupidly wideangle lenses on as they aren't available easily for my OM2. Highly tempted by the Samyang 14mm
 
Edited my current prime on my MX/K1000 is a 55mm f/2 which is good but I've wanted to have the standard SMC-M prime to compare and to get an ever so slight step back in focal length.

Well all the photos I've seen with the 50 1.7 seen to show it as being a fantastic bit of kit. I'm looking forward to seeing the results of this first roll through it.

On a less positive note that Vivitar 19-35 is still giving me grief. The stop down mechanism is knackered, so I've removed the lever and it now stops down only on the aperture ring. The other side effect of this is that the light meter now only works wide open - stop the lens down by 1 stop, and the meter ups the exposure 2 stops, since the lens is telling it that it's closed a stop, it compensates, but because the aperture has actually stepped down it leyts a stop less light in as well....

Hope yesterdays test shots with it come out ok!

A Zeiss Ikon Ikonta 521 with Novar 75mm f/4.5 on Prontor-SV shutter.

It's in reasonable condition, the bellows appear light tight and the shutter appears to be about right too. There's a little fungus between the 2nd and 3rd elements that's going to require a little cleaning, but I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces soon.
 
Got this lot for £1.50, I was honest with the seller and said it was jammed and it might only need a battery. but would take a gamble if very cheap...well she said "£2" and I said "would you take £1.50" and she said "go on then".
Well it is in excellent condition and it was the battery. Poor shots cos I'm not very good with a digital camera or this Canon Ixus 870 IS is crap.

Well the seals were soft and gooey, 10 mins to fit new ones (I just stick it over the old Cr*p) and it looks quite small with a Helios lens fitted.
