OFFICIAL I HAVE A NEW (FILM RELATED) TOY THREAD!!

Forgot to mention my new Rolleiflex T (v3). It's wonderfully world worn but the lenses are lovely and clean. Winding and shutter all good too. It's a beauty!

Ill get some pics up over the weekend. planning on investing on some rolls of film tomorrow and go happy snapping :)

Film is never "invested" in- its resale value never goes up once used! ;)

Oh I don't know - I used to regularly get a couple of hundred quid for a couple of frames of Velvia BITD... Haven't sold anything on film for a while though.

No one would pay for my piccies- especially on velvia. Never been able to get it right!

Must be getting lucky, was given a lovely Minolta X-700 with lenses last year, have just been given this little beast a Werra 1, in lovely condition with the leather case, just did a bit of digging on the web and saw that the lens cover reverses and doubles as a lens hood, anyway have just had some film arrived from 7dayshop so gonna give this and the minolta a bit of a run out very soon

I've just got an Oly OM10 with a 50 mm1.8 Zuiko lens... for free. :) My girlfriend was about to bin it, because she thought it was "obsolete and not worth keeping" !!! Gulp.

She then mentioned she'd just dumped some other "old photo stuff", so a quick rummage in the dustbin produced an Oly-fit Sigma zoom lens and a couple of flashguns, luckily all still in great condition.

The Oly needs some new batteries, but looks to be in mint condition and even has a leather case and a manual adaptor.

I've just received this Kiron 70-150mm f/4 lens, shown mounted on my FM.

My copy was very good, took it apart to clean some fungus and couldn't work out how to put it back again.......now found a use for a digital camera in taking shots as you dismantle  . A Kiron 80-200mm F4 is a good lens as well.

I'm a dead man!

I have just bought from ebay another GX680 this time though it's a MkIII, comes with a 250mm Lens (finishes my lineup and goes with 50mm, 65mm, 100mm, 125mm 180mm), MkIII film back, AA Holder, Compendium Hood (already got one) and Polaroid back.

I paid a fraction under £400, Just got to hope the import duties are not too extreme now.

Planning to duel wield?!? You'll be needing a good chiropractor as well then :D

Better start bidding on the lorry you'll be needing to replace the camera bag :bonk:

Just taken delivery of my V700 :D Can finally scan in my 30 odd LF frames taken since getting the Shen Hao! WOOOO! Will get on the case tonight and get some images up on here tonight.

True enough, it already takes up more than 2 bags.

I'll be leaving one at home which will be set up for macro work with the extension rails and 4 part Wide Bellows.

The other will be my out and about camera. I have finished looking for kit for the Fujis now, I have a nice range of accessories as well as a good selection of lenses.

If I don't look, I can't buy.

Epson V330 arriving tomorrow in order to enable me to digitise all my late great grandma's film collection. I am excited to open a big treasure trove of photos tomorrow.

Two new toys, just to see what I'm missing ;)

Apologies for the watermarks, I didnt realise they were that huge :3

Surprised at the boot sale today when for the first time (well in my visits) a guy was selling a Leica III something with Elmar lens and Nikon F photomic....coughed when he wanted £350 for the Leica, dunno about Nikon as I was still in shock. Also Zeiss Contessa (non folder) £15.
So what did I get? Tombraider 3 for 50p and videos scoobydoo and time machine for 20p :)

That III if genuine, working and with lens was actually a bargain. I know it's not a 50p boot sale find but the price was very, very good.

... probably a dealer would carry that sort of money.

Not quite a new 'toy' as such, but theres now 3 cold stored Fuji Superia 200 110 cartridges coming across to me from the USA! Although they expired in 2003, their cold stored and the last generation of 110, so they should be a bit more fine grained and in better conditon than the non cold stored outdated lomo crap which I've had to put through my Pentax Auto 110 before.

+ I've managed to add another two rolls of Kodak Technical Pan to my freezer, thats 4 now frozen and one going off to be developed shortly!

Very jealous! I've always wanted to try and put a roll through a Pentax Auto 110 but the thought of trying to make a film slitter and destroy a roll of 35mm to do so always put me off.

After being given and AE-1 and some lenses i thought it was time to get a photograph of the FD family.

Canon EF and its younger cousin the AE-1

Identical twins 135mm f3.5
Identical twins 50mm f1.8
The odd one out 50mm f2.0
85mm f1.8
35mm f3.5
28mm f2.8

And the black sheep of the family - T50

There are some teleconverters about the place too.. but I'm beginning to loose track of things!

Resisting the urge to buy some longer primes...

To be fair thse aren't new but recently rediscovered hidding in my parents garage . Many !! years ago I was fortunately able to use a school dark room and started to learn the art of developing B&W film and photos (at that time I obtained the following equipment). Unfortunately whilst I briefly considered A-Level Photography, my time got taken up doing Maths, Chemistry and Physics !!; and the cost of processing put me off photography.

Found by RJ Fletcher, on Flickr

So now I have found my developing tank (two reels inside) a measuring cylinder and storage bottles it seems like I need to dig out the film camera get some B&W film and see if have a go again. I will obviously be scanning the negatives as a darkroom and an enlarger are out of the question. It might not be quite this month but I will price up chemicals and read up on how to do it. iirc I will also need a thermometer ?

Well at least Chemistry and Physics should give you a better understanding of what's actually going on with film, rather than just pouring magic juice on the magic paper and coming out with a picture :p

I still seems magical to me, all Chemistry will bring is knowledge of what damage the chemicals might do to me, I'll be doing a risk assesment and study the COSHH and MSDS info ;-)

I try and not worry about that since my darkroom is also my bedroom but I do tend to walk about sniffing my fingers after I've been developing or printing. Probably makes me look a bit :cuckoo:

A-Level Chemistry prepared me well for film developing, seems like all those titrations and stoichiometry were of use to me after all.

@DrRusty I bought my chemicals on AG Photographic & found the prices to be fairly reasonable :} have fun dev'ing film at home! My stories pretty similar to yours, I used the tank process in high school & am now coming back to it since leaving College & it's amazing darkroom behind. I'll be scanning my negs too {as soon as my new scanner is paid for & dispatched}.

When I am ready to have a go this place is just done the road from me :-)

I've always wanted one of them. I don't know what it is, but it will be great for carrying my sandwiches, and then when I am eating I can pull the cloth over my head so no one will want to share them.

whilst looking for something i found this in a cupboard ,dont know how it got there ,,but would anyone like to have a go at what it is ??

Some obscure East German Folding camera that will all spring out and be ready for action be folding the flap at the front down, possibly originally for Soveit spying by the Nazis?

(I have a vivid imagination!)
