And all the none smokers.

but they would soon find something else to winge about, its human nature or should I say "European nature"
It would bankrupt government![]()

Well I wouldn't outwardly show any disgust towards their laws, culture and smoking habits, regardless of what I actually thought, so I don't suppose I would be told to go **** myself. It's a little something I have called respect. With a post like that perhaps it's something for you to look into?![]()
Yes, it was a bit harsh and unnecessary. Sorry about that!

this is naivety in its most prolific form!
No, I just don't believe we are told the truth, by the Government or NHS when its comes to anything smoking related. Over exaggerated propaganda.
Just my opinion of course.

I'm at week 12 fag free and feel great but loved smoking. What made me quit was when all the technicians at the garage i work at were taking the P out of a car that was being serviced that absoluely stank of fags and i though "does my car smell like that?". From then on i just stopped and the smell of co-workers that smoke totally churns my stomach. Very hypocritical i know but thats just how i feel.
I think patches etc are just prolonging the pain. I wanted to stop for years but when its time you just know. Do it for the your own reasons not because the wife/kids/employer etc wants you to.
I think I should join in on this thread!
I'm a smoker, and I really enjoy it. Bonkers I know, but I do.
I've *tried* everything to give up. You name it.
I've even helped others to give up, with success! But cannot do it myself.
The even stupider thing is, I know why I can't quit.
I put * next to tried because if you try to quit, you'll fail. I've only ever tried to quit. You have to tell yourself, 100% that are GOING to stop.
This is what Allan Carr said in his awesome book, The Easy Way To Stop Smoking.
That and fear. And I'm guilty of them both! I'm terrified of the thought of never having another fag. And that also stops me from stopping.

My Father smoked a pipe when I was growing up and I've always loved the smell of pipe tobacco, it's fantastic.
It's a shame smoking a pipe has gone out of fashion, I hope there's a revival. Keep up the good work!![]()

Thats the thing I've always had the fear of not smoking again. I tried the Allan Carr method but I just didn't commit 100%. .
I was smoking my pipe outside a Restaurant a few months back, a few of the people said it smelled lovely, while ciggy smoke put a few off. My friends who smoke, do tend to get shouted, while I smoking a pipe seem to get away with itMy Father smoked a pipe when I was growing up and I've always loved the smell of pipe tobacco, it's fantastic.

I smoke a pipe and have lots of favourite tobaccos from pungent, Latakia-heavy English mixes to coffee or coconut or whisky flavoured, scented aromatics. My current favourite cheap[ish] tobacco is MacBaren 7 Seas Regular which is strongly chocolate scented.
I think it's quite a good habit! After all, as Aldous Huxley said "drug taking is debilitating! Do you want a short life but a good one?"

My favourite baccy is Columbian Coffee, followed by Buttered Rum it has the aroma of a fruit cake laced with rum

If you're up in the North West, are you a Duckworth's of Colwyn Bay customer? One of my favourite shops!![]()
I keep trying to give up, I have an electric cigarette but moderating this place drives me to harmful smoke and alcohol
So I am just off outside to have a fag and then pour myself a nice glass of wine.

I quit a couple of months ago but only used to smoke when out having a few beers anyway.
Now counting down the days until "having a beer" will result is the same dirty looks and cries of "think of the CHILDREN!" as having a smoke. Then what'll we have left? Capuccinos and cupcakes?![]()
That's 30 mins away from me in the car. Bloody tempting!![]()
Colwyn Bay just a little out of my area, I use Turmeas Tobacconist Fenwick Street Liverpool City Centre. It is in the business section of the city Centre, really nice place and the staff are really polite. http://www.cgarsltd.co.uk/document.php?id=turmeaustobacconist.htmIf you're up in the North West, are you a Duckworth's of Colwyn Bay customer? By the way, “think of the children” comes straight from Mein Kampf! It was Hitler who was politically astute enough to explain that if you spoke about things being for the good of the poor, little children, people could be persuaded only too easily to give up all sorts of their civil liberties!
I don't need to "persuade" anyone. I don't know any of you from Adam. Its more an observation of such a shame it is for my kids that they have a better relationship with the grandparents who dont smoke due to the fact they are healthier and can do more. Of course it's not just down to smoking, she has many other health implications from being overweight etc. but smoking is one of the factors, she also shouldn't eat as much crap.
Just shot yourself in the foot Joe.
Funny how you didn't mention overweight and other health issues in your earlier posts, but highlighted smokering! Why?

Ironically I also think her smoking is one of the reasons I have a better relationship with my dad. Growing up I didn't like being near her because she stank. So I probably spent less time with her than I did with my dad.
It's surprising how many knock on negative effects smoking causes.
Well I've never heard that one beforePinning that one on smoking is just stretching it a little thin imo. Drinking certainly can have a profound effect on a family but, smoking.
my mum smoked all her life, now she is so unhealthy she cant even walk to the park with my kids and her activities with them are massively reduced because of it. Just know that your choices now will affect your families life in the future.
As I said, no mention of your mum being overweight or other health issues.

Joe, you reply to this was to post a link to " I'm I Paranoid"
Think you have strengthen my argument, by conveniently forgetting to mention other issues why your mum can't take your kids out for the day.
Oh, your Ale breath doesn't smell to good to a non drinker. Think of the children Lolll
