The TP52 - 2026 Nog's 52 for 2026 Week 12 Daily life

Week 8 Vintage objects
10 gallon milk churn, probably from the 60s or 70s, not a very interesting object but once at the gate of every dairy farm

Memories of childhood holidays in Wales...
Yes I remember the churns being used, still quite. a few farms around still have the churn stands on the side of the road
The kind of thing you see on heritage railways but barely anywhere else these days.
I feel this wasn't at one of those though. Nicely shot. Where was it?
Thanks Tim, in our garden - currently under development, well it will be when the weather improves a bit
I used to work in the dairy industry so the churn is a bit of a reminder/nostalgia thing :)

You're certainly milking this theme :)

Nicely thunk and shot!

Love the churn shot, and that hourglass is something else, nicely lit!

Great shot, beautifully lit! Forgive my ignorance, but do they run at different rates? For 3/4/5 minutes perhaps?

Honestly not gripped with the churn shot, but the hourglass triplet is great - lovely warm colours, moody lighting and the low-key effect works well.

It's simple, but in a good way, really well lit too.
Thanks Dominic(y):)

Thanks Phil, I completely agree about the churn shot, but "going forward" (used to still hate that expression)will hopefully make a bit more effort, well most weeks :)

Godd take and well taken Keith.

I would love to have seen a slightly bigger flame, but other than that, is a good image.

I like the candle shot - you could have claimed the technique too I think.
