Hi all,
I have finally done it!
I have processed my very first film at home.
Ilford Delta Professional 400 using Ilford chemistry.
It has taken me a while to gather all the equipment, lots of research and a whole lot of talk, much to my wifes consternation but the ball has now started to roll.
To tell you the truth I was extremely nervous about it all before I started. I was checking, double checking and triple checking that everything was in place.
The main concern for me was getting the roll onto the spiral to start with but that went like a dream.
I had all the chemistry ready and at the required 20˚C and in went the ID-11.
This part of the process seemed the longest 9.5mins ever.
Anyway after all said and done, I am very, very happy with the results.
Only the last 4 frames of the roll are bad, which with my camera are the first 4 shots that were taken, so could have been an issue with loading or something.
3 of the four look like they have wishy washy bands vertically down them and the last frame has 4 horizontal dots, like pin wheel damage.
Having said all this the film was essentially a practice film and I got 32 out of 36 very good exposures.
All I need now is to get a scanner, (Epson V500), and upload a few to my flickr account.
One question I do have is how do I stop the sections of 6 negs from curling?
I have placed them in an archive and placed a large selection of heavy books on them for the moment to try to take the curl out.
Regards.
a very happy Kirk
