Nikon Z* mirrorless

Took the 24-120 S for a run out today. First ever visit to Worthing. Wife was with me so photo opportunities limited.
My impression is that is is sharp throughout the range but may be susceptible to flair.
All images are well cropped.

I think the couple saw me taking pics of the pier and decided to fool about.

Just picked up a Z6 on clearance from Argos for £775. Might be worth a search if someone fancies one
That is a nuts price! There was one local to me but that’s soon gone….

Sadly not :)

This lens has replaced my Nikon Z 24-200, which whilst a great lens for a superzoom, was just a tad too slow at the long end at F6.3, and constantly found myself over ISO6400 in darker conditions. Got a great price for the 24-200 meaning the 24-120 only cost me a few hundred pounds more.

Wont get a chance to play with the Z9 till Fri due to my work situation. Batteries all charged and ready to delve into the settings. What did surprise me was the depth of grip, its soo deep and comfortable. Not 100% on where the menu button is but will get used to it.

Thinking of that one as well, price seems decent. How is the fit and finish on it Chris? Is the battery door easy enough to access with it on. Where did you buy? They didnt have it on Amazon a few days ago but all others were listed.
It all looks good to me.
It arrives in four separate parts which are assembled using screws provided.
I bought it direct from Smallrig.
I have an order with them for their L bracket too - supposed to be released tomorrow.

No Z9 yet so having to 'make do' with my Z7ii.

The first two I shot with the 70-200s+1.4x, manual focus and got these two I'm pleased about.

Here we see why the 50/1.2 is loved by all those that shoot with it. Full image first and then a 100% crop to show just how razor sharp this lens is. Simply beautiful

And a couple of other shots for fun

Trying out the new Z9 on a few moon images tonight. Images when reviewing ar fine however on the screen and viewfinder they are way overexposed. I have a hell of a lot to learn with this new camera. Why is the back screen and viewfinder so overexposing?

Had an opportunity to try out my Z9 3d tracking and eye detection with my dogs. Definitely useful. It struggled to pick up the eyes at distance but once it had it the focus was held. The caveat is I only used one lens - so I don't know if the performance is at all lens-dependent. Lens was the Nikon 200mm f2 VRII. All shots are at f2.

I see now the 400/2.8 is released, anyone going to buy one well if you sell an arm and a leg

I will be interested to see if it improves more than just the one named improvement (they have a habit of slipping things into their updates)

Yes Z7II, but haven't used it yet. It did take an unusually long time to actually do the update in comparison to earlier ones I felt.
Z7ii only isn`t it ?

It did seem slightly better in lower light testing in the house last night, proof is in the pudding so will see if I notice anything this weekend when out

The Z9 look a great camera. The only way for me to get one is to sell my D500, Z6II & 500mm G F4 VR. Basicaly my whole kit apart from the 500mm PF.

Anyone on the waiting list for a Z9 heard anything recently?

Well my Z9 landed today and hugely excited get out and about with it. Battery fully charged and weekend planned already. Massive thanks to LCE for sorting me out as well. I did preorder on the day of release and had to give my NPS number to secure one of those from the first batch here in the UK. Hope you guys waiting get yours delivered soon too.
