Nikon D800......

I thought the new ones were ART lenses as they changed the designations. Art, Contemporary and Sport. Looking at Sigma Global it's got the Art designation letter. Also, the M4/3 lenses are also ART by the look of things. >

Nope, the 30mm has a 'C' on the barrel, Arts have an 'A'. EDIT Very strange!!! That link you posted shows an A, retail store models show a C.

The one you linked is for M4/3 & Sony, perhaps they have only recently changed for this fitting?

A couple of APSC ones. I think it's been like this for a while along with the 18-35mm zoom. Looking at Amazon it's been available since March 2013 "Date first available at Amazon.co.uk: 14 Mar. 2013"

Losing track with all this chopping and changing;)

My D750 was to be collected again today, so I can buy my D810, but my shoulder has been in agony, so unable to pack up for DPD. Will wait until fully recovered before changing now. Clare has gone ape, as I have been trying to run before I can walk. Seeing specialist tomorrow and stitches out, so need to take my time a little more.

Just a little second cam (A6k), still with Nikon. Ouch! Doesnt sound much fun. Take it easy.

Cracking pics chaps, crisper than a crispy thing.

Well done on the recovery Jack [emoji106]

Just a quick question. Do you af fine tune your primes. I never have but I had a niggle about my 85 f1.4 so that's the first one I've done. The 35/50 f1.4 art have been on the money for me so far!

Only if I have a reason to and generally only the longer ones (when I had them).

The only lens that showed improvement after fine tuning was a Tokina 100mm that didn't need a lot from memory, I thought the 85 I had needed fine tuning but when I tried (using focal) it said 0 ... probably more to do with me than the lens I think.

Mr FedEx man delivered the 20mm f1.8G lens late this afternoon. Walked the collie dog to a local golf course, this was the best I could find with the few hours of daylight remaining. A heavy crop.

Hooray, at last! Excellent Peter, nice and light isn't it?

Anyone manage to get any shots of the amazing sunset in London 2 days ago? I was walking along Oxford street and the whole sky lit up. Probably the best sunset I've witnessed in the UK in years. Really gutted as I had originally planned to take a walk alone the south bank with my camera on my way in. Id have been in a perfect position to capture it :/

Figured it out mate, the Sony is a new design for E (unreleased product), you were right the Canikon version is on the market already and is an ART, the new Sony will be a Contemporary. (y) Got your D810 yet?

No not yet, my D750 was planned to be collected earlier in week, but I cancelled for the second time due to my shoulder and elbow still being sore after operations. Had stitches out on Tuesday and they advised no weight baring for at least six weeks, so need to take my time a little. Got Clare to set my camera and lens on tripod toady so I can try and take some pics of garden wildlife, so its relieving the boredom a little.

D8** dudes;

I'm on the search for a M42 lens screw adapter for my old 58/2 Helios lens if anyone might have one lying about please....(?)
M42 is not infinity compatible with the nikon f mount. (Longer register distance of f mount) Adapters without built in optics would only focus close, just like using an extension tube. The ones with built in optics will degrade image quality which is why most don't bother. I use a fotodiox pro adapter to convert mamiya 645 to nikon which works spectacularly well as medium format lenses have very big register distances. Leitax make decent replacement mounts for a few different lenses but require you to physically swap the bayonet.

Agreed! Foreground interest really works [emoji106]

Very very nice Nguss [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
