This is a shot of one of a series of Sound Reflectors/Acoustic Mirrors scattered along the channel coast. This particular one is up on the cliffs between Capel-Le-Ferne & Dover. They were used quite effectively during war times to help hear the sound of aircraft etc approaching from across the channel.

wow interesting background to that reflector/mirror, I never knew that.......clever design alright. Lovely and sharp. Just wondering George if you had a chance to have more space around that capture....?.....maybe a little more scope around the subject may help.

Just my tuppence worth input.

Thanks for that Peter, appreciate your comments.(y)

Good point with regards to space around the subject and I totally agree with you. I had to go in fairly tight as there is so much carp & debree around the subject that it would have taken a month of Sundays to clone it all out and I couldn't go back any further without falling of the cliffe edge.

Thanks Steve. What's the benefits selecting compressed over uncompressed 14 bit ?

There is 2 levels of compression Peter, a loseless compression (which I believe is totally lossless) and the other which does make smaller file sizes but you do lose a bit of quality although its debatable if you will notice it in most cases.

Hi David, not random at all. I go out by myself, normally combined with work travel (work for myself so it's easier), not sure I'd like a club but happy to meet up with fellow forum members.

Love those four quality images Gregg, the bottom one is class as the checked shadow on the ground really works well I believe, it gives it a sense of scale etc, awesome set there....!

:)

That 20/1.8g is an awful lens, you need to give it to me, its flipping really useless to be honest. lol

Thanks George, yes it was, nice hazy Perspex glass!

Hi Pete, yes it was, my last 'snap' whilst walking back to the station

Shaheed;

Very creative indeed, love these, excellent selection Sir. That first psychedelic capture would make a fantastic vinyl album cover.....wOOOw.

:)

Cheers!

The psychedelic one is actually a variation of the last shot of the selection above. Took anther pic of the cotton reels and then processed it photoshop
