Nikon D7500 coming this week?

Even currently writing to two cards, if I've shot something unrepeatable and I have my laptop with me, I will wiz through what I've shot in Photo Mechanic just to make sure I have useable shots before leaving. If paranoid with the D7500 I would simply rotate two high capacity cards when ever I have a spare moment, 'just in case' for some peace of mind. The more I think about it a single slot should be acceptable for my use.

Is ISO performance actually going to better than the D7200? If it's the same sensor as the D500 I doubt it going to be a huge ISO performance increase. If you go by DXO scores there isn't much between the D7200 and D500.

Apart from the 8fps you have just described the D750 which would be a step up in ISO performance from the D7100 and would be cheaper second hand than the D7500 will be too.

Let's be honest most us don't actually need the current 'benefits' of new models, major technology improvements have reached a plateau where marketing department are trying to entice us into upgrades, camera spec wise there hasn't been a bad camera in the last 3-5 years where many of us (including myself) the camera would be the weak link and not the photographer.

Despite what the DXO scores show, my experience is that the D500 is closer to the D750 than the D7200 in terms of noise handling. What I mean by this is that if you scaled it from 1-10 with the D7200 being at 1 and the D750 at 10, the D500 would sit around 7 or 8. Of course YMMV.

The DP review ISO low light comparison charts are a fair reflection IIRC.
 
Any reduction of high iso noise is welcome, and my understanding of the D500 noise handling is in line with Toby's post above after viewing high iso images from the D7200, D750 and D500. Hopefully the D7500 high iso noise reduction will be the same as the D500, we'll have to wait to confirm or not. I sometimes shoot up to iso 6400, and need cleaner images.

Rob, I had already decided to buy the D750 and 3 full frame lenses. To purchase I am waiting for some money left to me, but probate is taking some time. Even when I have the D750, the D7500 would make an ideal backup body and will be used with my 70-300 lens as I need the reach the crop sensor gives it.

Forgive me your bodies. D750 and if your going to add the 7500 which are about 2 - 3k and your putting a £300 lens on the end??
 
Rob, I currently use a D7100. When I receive the money I have been left I will be buying a D750 (unless it is superseded before I get my interim payment) and new Tamron 24-70 2.8 and 70-210 2.8 lenses (or used Nikon depending upon whats available at the time) and the Nikon 18-35 3.5-4.5 G. My £300 Tamron 70-300mm lens, currently used with the D7100, will be used with the D7500 if it turns out as I hope. I mainly use this lens for headshots at the long end and I find it quite adequate for my use. Eventually the D7100 will be kept as a spare or converted for IR.
 
Anyone bought one of these? We are thinking of getting one as a 2nd body to replace an D7000.
 
I would wait as I can't see it selling very well and price will drop.

and I am off to the US next week and was thinking of getting one while there as even with the rubbish exchange rate, it is still cheaper.... now do I have the patience/will power to wait? :)
 
I think the main 2 points I would buy this camera is the 90-times higher-res 180k-pixel RGB metering sensor and ISO button placement huge improvement.
 
I'd still choose the D7200 due to the dual card slot.
