Nikon D750 & D780

Yep, considering the hype and initial tests I was expecting better tbh, a little bit disappointing considering. Still, DR is considerably better than the D5

That is crazy when you put it like that
The D500 does make the D7200 seem like excellent value. It's a lot of camera especially if you find a good one used.

That's an interesting device. If I hadn't already got the batteries I would have thought of something like that. Last year I had 4 batteries and only used 2 up between 2 cameras so it should be fine ;) I've only ever purchased 2 spare batteries, the rest have come with cameras bought on here! I've ended up labelling them to get an idea of which have been used of not.

Just don`t forget to charge them all up before you go ;) And keep `em warm.

The Samyang 135/2 would be an excellent contender alright, it receives excellent write-up's.

If I wasn`t so blind, I might try manual focus, but I am as good as England scoring goals ... totally crap at it :D

I seem to have a new garden buddy. This little chap has been hanging around for the last few days, and comes really close.
Massive crop on this ...

Haha, no need to tell me what I already know. Two D750's is def the aim.

I am looking for a D750 24-70 combo to replace the D7200 17-55 combo I currently have.

The D750 will also accept all my other lenses other than the 35mmDX and 10-20DX too which is a bonus.

My main reason for upgrade is ISO and because I'm a man and like having new toys.

My bridal prep shots I dont use flash and where natural light is at a minimum the 17-55 suffers but the awesome cheap 35mm is stunning at 1.8 so I opt for that, although with its limiting zoom length. I'm hoping the 24-70 D750 combo will improve that performance and enable to advantages of zoom still.

My aim at the end of the year is to upgrade the other camera also and replace the 10-20mm & 35mm with the Sigma 12-24. I dont need the UWA to be ultra fast, Its mainly used for wedding reception rooms interiors, group shots outside etc. Very little use in all honesty but nice to have it in the bag.

That will leave me with D750 x 2, 12-24, 24-70, 70-200, 50 1.4, 85 1.8. Then I'm free from upgrade for a long long time (or at least thats what I'm telling the Mrs)

Best of all, if you like the D7200+35/1.8 combo then sticking your 50/1.4 on the D750 will get you broadly the same field of view but a full frame f/1.4... which is a completely different beast from 1.8 on DX :)

Yes, that will mean swapping lenses but if it's prep then I'm assuming you can arrange to have a little bit more time to do that sort of thing? (You can tell I've never done anything like this before!)

As mentioned before here recently, the 70-200 f/2.8 VR MkII seems and all round excellent piece of glass, I must start a saving fund.

Check out images from this (amazing) lens;

Just be aware that it looks to me that a lot of these images have been heavily processed in photoshop to give them that real wow factor (I must pull my finger out and learn photoshop). It is a stunning lens though.

There nowt wrong with your processing your images are simply stunning.

I didn't realise how big the 50 actually is!

Look like a lovely pair though.
Didn't you know, the bigger the lens the better your images ;) :p

Agree, like most 500px images. They look nice, but you always get a feeling that they are bit unreal with the heavy processing [emoji3]

Agreed. 99.9% of the time I like my photos to look genuine rather than airbrushed/photoshopped for publication but I would love to learn how to do it still for the odd image. I guess once you've learnt it you can always tone it down a little (y)

@JJ! , now you are selling your 35 F1.4 G as well? did you even use it?

Sorry, read your comment on the sale thread, but couldn't resist. Not abuse really, but I am trying to understand why you buy so many lenses and sell them so soon

Hence why I said JJ's the lens equivalent of you. You swap bodies all the time :p

I change lenses, but they all fit on my bodies, surely when you change your bodies, they dont fit your lenses?!

My D750 has gone to Nikon for a advisory fix, does anyone know the turn around? I'm preparing myself for 4 weeks.

Mine took 2 weeks form sending it off to getting it back that was the beginning of May. I believe they say about 2 weeks form receipt of the returned camera

Mine took one week for the flare issue, not sent it in yet for the shutter but will be shortly as have contacted Nikon about it.

Not sure if relevent but my service advisory fix took less than 2 weeks with Nikon France and that was with a couple of days delay while they tried to charge me €260!!

Cheers chaps, 2 weeks seems the norm.

What did they charge for? Mine's a grey going to Nikon UK, spoke to them and they said it was fine and covered under warranty.

been waiting about 5 weeks for my d750 to go back for the shutter advisory.. sadly today the shutter totally failed while shooting my daughters sports day. the bottom of the 3 tabs stripped right of one side:( I had been trying not to use it too.. finally getting the stuff emailed today after calling again. So hopefully they will cover this and not try and fob me off.

Mine is from Panamoz but I think it was a miscommunication as I requested a sensor clean at the same time so it probably got put in the 'to charge' pile! Easily sorted out with a couple of emails and they did the sensor clean for free!
