Strange you say that, I didn't have to clean the sensor on my Olly once yet I have to clean the D750 sensor a few times/year. Yes the D750 is used far more but we're talking several times vs never
All DSLRs will get dust on the sensor (if you use them) at some point or another. The more you change lenses the more likely it is. That being said dust can still find its way in even without changing lenses.

Amen brother.Obviously I don't know your own circumstances, but if I were in your boat, I'd be asking myself why I take photos and why I enjoy photography. In my experience (limited, perhaps), it's varying amounts of the following:
1. Because I like looking at what I've captured
2. Because I like showing others what I've captured
3. Because I like having and buying gear
4. Because I aspire to have the best gear
5. Because I aspire to take the best photos
6. Because I want other people to go "wow" (related to 2)
7. Because I want other people to go "wow" at my gear (related to 4)
It doesn't actually matter which of these is your thing. Having a different camera setup is not actually going to change your drive for any (or all) of these. It will temporarily sate your desire for #3, possibly #4 and perhaps #7. It won't do a single thing to the rest. And in six months' time, when there's something newer and better out there, you'll be back at the beginning again with all that "old and not as advanced or wow-like" gear you've just bought.
So, if you have chronic GAS you have chronic GAS. No point in thinking that buying new gear will solve it, because it won't. If you want new gear then go ahead and buy it, but do so in the knowledge it will not do one single thing to affect 2, 5 or 6. You might like looking at your photos a bit more, mind especially if they're photos of your new gear
Sorry - not meaning to be all preachery but GAS is something I suffer from and have managed to find a way to accommodate it without hurting the wallet too much - buying second-hand at keen prices. Far better to be honest with what's causing you this need / desire to change and confront it head on.

But you have made a very good point. Maybe @rookies just needs to admit/accept he has GAS and it's nothing to do with the sharpness of the pics, or lightness of his equipment?
I fit into 1,2,3,5, and 6. I do fit into 4 as well but more to do with 5 rather than the gear itself (and before we get onto the 'argument' of the tog is the important bit there are times when the gear can improve your shot
