That's my next lens I thinkYou should get the 85 1.8g.
Much better than getting your hair off trying to get it to focus in the dark.
Wait, perhaps that's why you don't have any hair?
That's my next lens I think. Probably would only get used once or twice a year though

Size, weight and cost for something I'd rarely use though. It's a nice lens, light, sharp, cheap.... but I'd still take the sigma, think I've had 3 85gs and tbh while I'd rather an 85 over a 70200 I just don't use that fl enough.

Just meaning the Sigma vs the Nikon f1.8g. The Siggy is big heavy and expensive in comparison (obviously due to the f1.4)Then don't get a 85. I feel the same way after owning about 10+ different 70200 lenses.

DSC_0558a by Paul, on FlickrBut it's a lens I use a lot, and there's little in it weight wise. Sigma 85mm twice the weight of the Nikon f1.8 and it's the type of lens I'd want to be light. Why didn't you buy a sigma 70200? Because the nikkors better.

Won't there be a sigma artPointless buying a 85 if you are going to use it twice a year. Just use the 70200. If you are going to use it more, the sigma is better. Twice the weight..... but still better.

A Nikon f4 I can't just the cost of a 1k lens for f4 or am I mistaking
Well the reason I've considered the 85mm is that used it's not a bank breaker so it's nice to have in the kit for those odd occasions, just like my 50mm f1.8. If I ever had the fortune of being a regular portrait shooter then I would look at upgrading.Pointless buying a 85 if you are going to use it twice a year. Just use the 70200. After seeing pics taken with it on here I just decided to buy it. No fuss or nothing. And now I take pictures with it.
You like it? How much? What made u get that over 2.8. Cost I guess?
In all honesty the only reason you'd choose the f2.8 over the f4 is if you need/want the light gathering and/or shallow DOF. Otherwise the F4 offers what the f2.8 does. You like it? How much? What made u get that over 2.8. Cost I guess?

Yepsieve? We use a similar (large) one for straining boiled rice, I hate washing it![]()
Nope ...I'd say either a microphone or a sieve
Is it a French Poodle?![]()

I might even look at the f1.8d as it's even cheaper.
Only had my 750 a month – brilliant camera but of course I don’t have to remind you.
Haven’t seen any small birds in the garden for months, so today a couple arrived and naturally I had the wrong lens attached, Sigma 105 macro. No time to change lenses as they had gone within five minutes.

I await the ribbing

I always check focus on mine, the 1:1 zoom on the focus point is invaluable to me. Dunno how I'd 'cope' without it eitherSome nice colours about this morning. Never realised how much i chimped at the back screen until you can't review your images.
