Was just talking to a mate yes he a canon man at the moment but moving to Nikon d810 soon. He said he currently use the 70-300 L lens from canon. Ask what can he use for Nikon that be as good as he rate that canon lens highly

D800E, the first 58mm went back and the second one (from John Lewis) was no better sadly so giving up with it for now.

Theres not really anything directly in comparison to that Canon lens, only really the Nikon and Tamron ones already mentioned.

Was there much cropping to these or intact any of the images?

The 70-300's are cropped. Tiger is cropped quite a bit to 2418 x 1612, More than this and IQ started to suffer. Lemur only cropped 4808 x 4005, and squirrel monkey to 5503 x 3667.

Well it's price reflective, the Canon is more than twice the price so it's going to be noticeably better.

Nope but it's supposedly pretty good. I don't do long lenses.

Not too sure if this anything to be proud of. I think I should of had the aperture open a bit more to get the nose in focus too???

Which Sigma or Tamron pls as they don't do one like that just the big one we been talking about earlier.. That is a len we will get between us but want a lens he keeps on like the canon version so that Nikon looks close enough?

Well I think that Nikon will do him good it even got a bit more reach than the Canon.. But will it perform as good that what I need to try and find out for him.. The Tammy we will get between us but need to see if he make the switch he will let me know for sure tmr..
