Nikon D750 & D780

Giant I am 6 foot 4 and i find it plenty long enough for me pal.. Yes it a fantastic strap I love mine and I was shock when you sent yours back when i first told you about it
Hmm, I'm 6'4" too. Maybe I have a long body and short legs

Cheers mate. Im at the annoying point of just simply wanting to get best images I can and Im about to invest in glass and want to do it wisely. Theres just so much choice these days and third party manufactures are creating some amazing bits of kit. I think I'l try and focus on a travel zoom and research the rest later in the year. Now I'm off to harvest a kidney for a Nikon 24-70 F2.8

I have to add my thoughts on the Tamron 24-70 f2.8 to Minnnt's, excellent lens and for the price probably a better buy than the Nikon, I don't know many people who have used a good copy of the Tamron who think the Nikon is any better.

Agreed in terms of sharpness, and rendering is personal preference (y). I still prefer the Nikon 70-200mm VRII to the Tammy 70-200mm though, but again it's a tough call :)

Strange, my iPhone and iPad colours are surprisingly accurate
On my iPad it looks the same as my iPhone. iPad is iPad2 and not on latest iOS. IPhone is 6.

Between the Tamron and Nikon 70-200 2.8, I think the choice will depend on need, feel and pocket.

The Nikon is more consistent in sharpness across the whole zoom range and autofocus is better suited to sports and action. It is a versatile heavy duty all-rounder and a must have if you want the best and can afford it.The Nikon also has better ergonomics in terms of focus ring and zoom ring placement and size. This lens is a proven glass that delivers every time and takes TCs without issues.

The Tamron from what I have read and from experience is a tremendous value for money and IQ is comparable to Nikon. DXO rates it higher, but that is arguable. The Tamron focus breathes bit less than Nikon and produces equally good images, but I think at the 200mm end the Nikon is sharper wide open. Autofocus is fast and silent, but not in the same league as the Nikon when it comes to sports although average users like me will perhaps not even notice the difference. The Tamron VC is excellent compared to the Nikon 70-200 F4 I had earlier, can't comment on the 2.8 version.

Odd, looked on my iPhone and I agree the colours do look a bit odd. First time I've ever noticed this, usually images look virtually the same as my calibrated monitors. Some weird Twilight Zone goings on ;)

That's better. Flickr links look good normally so dunno what's going on  Don't understand why they'd only look different on the iPhone/iPad.

This looks fine and same on both pc and iPhone. Must be some flickr colour space conversion issue that shows up with wrong colour on some devices

But why, never known it before? Most people on here share from Flickr. Very odd.

No issue here viewing the images on iPhone 6s Plus. iPad Air 2 and iMac all
Same

I noticed this few months ago with some of my images as well and all I remember was I recalibrated my monitor and then changed the colour space on CNX2 to a universal standard (was on some Nikon SRGB earlier IIRC) and then the problem went away. It was driving me mad.

Interesting. I wonder if it's just on those that aren't 'standard' sRGB then such as Adobe RGB then?

Back to D750 - Here's a couple I shot with the Tamron 70-200 2.8

1. My daughter - I shot this through two horizontal wooden bars of the backrest of a chair.

2. Zara - Shot a few weeks ago. Was trying to do skin retouching, but realised I need to learn it properly and gave up.

This is even stranger then if some people can see both images correctly on Apple devices but others can't. I have not changed any settings and I'm sure it was ok a few weeks ago, weird.
I have linked (below) to an older image of mine on Flickr to see if this is the same.

Fine on iPad and iPhone not checked iMac

No the colours are definitely off by some way, lost all of the warm tones. Going to have to google it see what I can find, any suggestions would be welcome.

Slightly more purple on the iphone, and the reds are much less saturated. In comparison Ani's above look more or less the same on Macbook and iphone.

You've got me looking at mine more closely now. I'd say the iphone is a bit cooler overall, most noticeable on whites.

WB will be different on iPad and iPhone as they are not all the same you might find one cooler than other. But mine are both the same as I made sure as I hated the yellow gate that was going around

Had to share these...

Could have been the 610 (ahem!) thinking about it.

Yep, I've been known to swap if the tint's off ;) I might get round to calibrating my iDevices one day.

Lol. I went through 4 iPad Air 1. But air 2 was bang on

I think the Tamron looks like a good buy! 70-200 are heavy beasts though. I want one for weddings to go with my 85 prime but the weight is an issue.

The 300 PF looks great but not flexible enough for wedding! I have seen some cool portraits with it though!

Nice shots.
Impressive sharpness and clarity from that 24-120 lens too !

Thanks Gary, the 24-120 tends to be the lens that I use the most well until I find something to replace it with that won't break the bank

Now, here's a very specific D750 question. The low battery indicator on all Nikon bodies I used before the D750 used to show up when the battery charge is very low and it would only take say 20-30 more shots. On the D750, I am noticing that it comes bit early, but allows to shoot more images with remaining charge before it goes to 0. I like the way it is in the D750.

Anyone else noticed this with their D750 compared to other Nikon bodies you owned?
