Nikon D750 & D780

So where is everyone based, in this micro community of D750 ness?

I`m down on the NW Kent / SE London borders :)

About half & half between "Spring Creek" Tennessee & "East Kent".(y)

George.

Bloody hell, we have a lot of Hobbits from the shires, here ;)
A lone Welshman
And a few from the south ish (inc the southern states) :)

Marylebone, London for me. Moved here 10 years ago. [emoji3]

Well, i haven't had one for ages, but my pic of Thierry Neuville's Hyundai i20 has somehow made it into Explore on Flickr. :)
Explore is a mystery to me. Last year we went through spells of having several random buses per day on there, and I've even seen a broken piece of lego on there  Not to undermine your pic of course which is a cracking shot :)

I know what you mean mate. I went through a phase of about 18 consecutive days with an image in explore then nothing until now!

Sometimes there is some utter rubbish on there, and others some nice images that deserve to be on explore IMHO.

What is the Flickr criteria for explore, also some members have Pro under their username like our David? I have had messages recently for Pro but you have got to pay for it in my case. Do you pay David or is it free as you have so many likes or explores???

North-West Cambridgeshire for me - actually, 3 miles from Lincolnshire, 2.5 from Norfolk!

I pay to have a pro account. Means i can look at stats etc. Sad i know. :D

A lot of people used to say only add to a few groups and upload at about 7pm ish. That criteria didn't happen with this image though so i think it's just pot luck tbh.

I didn't join early enough when a pro account was free and then for a few years you couldn't get a pro account regardless. I was 'delighted' when they announced the return of pro accounts, until I realised you now had to pay for them and I'm too much of a stingey northerner for that ;) Besides I recently made all of my pics private and then just reinstated the ones I thought weren't least half decent and now I've lost all of my explores and favourites for my pics :banghead::LOL: I do have a recent explore to redeem myself though :woot::LOL:

Have been thinking of a compact/CSC for a while now, something like the Fuji X30 as I have had two X20's in the past. After looking around I thought I may as well try a small DSLR as the value seems so good. So have just had a Nikon D3300 turn up, for the price of £279.00 plus £20.00 cashback bringing it down to £259.00 I thought it was a no brainer. Seems very small to how I remember the D3000 was, which was the second camera I bought after the Canon 1000D and what I started my DSLR journey on.

Will see how it goes when I don't want to lug the D750, and it's probably small enough to chuck in Clare's bag. She used to carry the Xpro1 & XT1 around for me, when going to the football.

Anyone done similar???

Not quite. I went the m4/3 route as DSLR lenses are still relatively large. I'm actually in the market for a 'large' sensor compact such as the Sony RX100 or Canon G7x at the mo so I have something to carry with me everywhere, just waiting for prices to become a bit more palatable ;)

I got myself a D5200 thinking along similar lines. Lasted about six months before I got rid. I just couldn't get used to the controls and constant menu diving. Replaced it with a Coolpix A (I like the 28mm equivalent angle of view) when Amazon were doing them for £280. It's pretty damned good IMO. I've come to the conclusion that if it's not a 'proper' DSLR then it might as well be a compact - I also have a P7800 which is great fun.

Reporting for roll call, I'm in Surrey [emoji3]

Although I'm only a squatter on this thread now though [emoji38]

While I'm here, I just fitted this screen protector and can recommend it...

I'm originally from Cambridgeshire, spent most of my working life in Oxfordshire and retired to Norfolk.

Chris which MBP you got and do you use that as your main processing system? I keep thinking of getting one with the SSD aren't big so my idea is using a thunderbolt for photos

I'm from Edinburgh but moved to East Lothian. After selling my gear a few years ago, got the bug again and bought my D750 a few months back. Been looking for a wide angle lens and had been deliberating between the Sigma 20-35 and Tamron 15-30. Ordered the Tamron for collection on Tuesday hopefully.

Tamron is meant to be awesome. Big old beast though
