What body did you have before, John?Well been playing with the new D750 and amazed at the focusing and ISO performance... 12000 ISO - its a new world :O yeah there is noise at 12000 but even then its not horrendous and the photo is unable
Just wanted to say hi here. I've been lurking in this thread for a week or so. Just got my D750. Enjoyed reading the posts about screen protectors.Other than that, don't understand what you guys are talking about most of the time.

I see the river's still up at Load Street.
Don't get home until 7 and weekends are spent decorating the new house so not been out with the camera for a while.
Just looked at the website for the Camare Club.
I've been once but was the wrong time for me to join.
If I can get an evening off the decorating I'll try and come along.
Be good to get back into the hobby again.
) Having said that I am currently looking at the X Pro 1 to replace my D7000 as a more lightweight system....What body did you have before, John?
whats a good 35 or 50 prime to go for. I want something small and light. I had the 35mm sigma art and (apart from it needing stupid amounts of focus adjust) just found it too big and heavy. Ive the 24mm 2.8d which i find about the right size, i used to have the 50 1.8d on my old D800 which i found just ok, is there something small, lightweight and a bit better quality out there?

Well at least 3 in this club then, ordered D750 Sunday night and, according to UPS, should be delivered tomorrowMe too.
We could start our own D750 noob club and talk about things we do understand! Which is probably not much. Which would make it a rather useless club, I suppose. Ok nevermind...Well at least 3 in this club then, ordered D750 Sunday night and, according to UPS, should be delivered tomorrow
Glad it`s not only me who shoots robinsI have a Robin who nests in one of our trees and for the last year I have been trying to get him to land on one of my perches, the little s*** always goes on the ground for food, but today he surprised me and landed on a perch and I managed to grab a few shots. I thought they were usually timid birds, this ones not, he hates the site of the camera or me, probably the latter.
Shame it was raining, but managed to get some detail even shooting through the double glazed door.
Best capture on ground so far:

Anyone have any thoughts/experience of the original Nikon 70-200mm F2.8 VR?

You could discuss screen protectors.
Just a thought.

You're a genius. I would never have thought of it myself. You could discuss screen protectors.

Vignette is a bit of a none issue really as with lens corrections in post it's an easy fix. And I'm also quite a fan of a little vignette.
Seen a few vids etc and focus looks good, anyone have any issues with it?

It's a good point Simon but i have decided to mainly concentrate on rallying so 'in theory' i should get more use out of the wider aperture over the focal length. I will still cover a few track events at circuits like Oulton Park as you can get quite close to the circuit but after attending the WRC, track stuff seems really unappealing and boring. I could try a TC if i ever feel the need.
