Nikon D750 & D780

Further feeling on the D750:

The detail this thing captures is crazy, and this is with a mid range f4 zoom. I can't wait to put a decent prime in front of it! The other thing I've noticed is, everything turns the opposite way to previous cameras Ive owned, like mounting the lens, zooming etc..

Shot with the 20-140 @ f4 at ISO 2800 IIRC

The other thing I've noticed is LR handles the files SO much better than the XT1, and I'm not talking about editing the images I'm talking about sorting, importing, loading up etc...

As you know your camera flash is couriering? (is that a word) its way to go with my Fuji so would appreciate if you could refrain from posting how good the D750 is- with immediate effect:) though its probably too late. Been watching this thread for a while and suspect there may be an XT1 for sale soon- complete with flash:eek:

Just going out for a quiet drink :beer:so Happy New Year all.

I predict that a few of us will still be 750 owners in 2016 but also 810 owners [emoji3]

I'd like to buy a D810 but i can't afford it. And the owners thread is crap.

Ha!! Very true, I watch that thread but it's full of tumble weeds [emoji15] (no offence to any 810 owners [emoji106])

No - I like the idea of the flippy screen though. It would help with landscapes.

I swapped about a few times before buying the D810 but have settled on it and don't find myself wanting other bodies. Now I only have GAS for lenses :(

Yes, totally. I would have bought one as my main camera, but I'd need to upgrade my PC too.

The d750/d800 combination is actually really nice.

The af on the d750 is much better but for studio type work, the af on the d800 is more than good enough!! And the detail is spectacular (doing a panorama portrait with a d800 made for some crazy sized detailed files!)

I keep toying the idea of that combo, but I think for carrying two bodies around all day, 2 D750's will be more comfortable.

I just uploaded a load of shots taken with the 58 on flickr btw ;)

all.

This won't help but.....the flash will work with the D750 in manual mode I think.

Nah, too poor.

Unfortunately my Grandad had a stroke on Christmas Day so today i went to visit him in hospital. Having not really had the chance to use my camera much over the last few weeks, i decided it would make a good place to get a few shots with the 14mm. This thing is wiiiiiiiiiiiide! :D

Can't wait to get out up into the Peaks with it. I had planned an early morning trip this morning for a few star trails and sunrise but it clouded over so that put those plans to bed.

Happy New Year everyone. Back home last night after a six day family trip to Italy. Took the Samyang 14mm, but didn't take any pics with it  :$. It was more of a family trip than photo trip. Will post some pics soon.

Are you a little happier now, Daryl?
Getting there David, I just need to get used to it, I think it is difficult as I have a new lens and camera and I am familiar with neither, I have an 85mm 1.4 but don't tend to use that much. Looking forward to your experience with your 14mm, always wanted one, will put it on the list.

Glad your experience is improving mate.

January is a good month for the Milky Way so I'm wanting to try and capture it if the weather ever plays ball! A moonless night is also preferable really! Got a few locations planned. Also looking forward to trying the 150-600 when i finally get it!

Inside Sant'Agnese in Agone, Rome with 24-85 VR. Photography is not allowed, but I took permission as it was marvellous. Placed the cam upside on a praying stand and took a few. Wish I had a wider lens.

so out on a shoot new years eve and another D750 failed on me. This time two random focus points on different parts of the frame are selected and can't be moved, plus got a constant 'err' message no matter what cards I put in it. Taking the battery out, different cards, different lenses all the same result.

This is the third (different) D750 I've had fail in less than a year, this one just two months old and in pristine condition. More hassle sending it back, meanwhile our trusty D810's continue on without missing a beat, makes me wonder what corners were cut with the D750 to keep the RRP down.

Or that you are INCREDIBLY unlucky.

That's a shocking run of bad luck mate. :(
