Nikon D750 & D780

Better than the 1.4g or 1.8g or both?

Ive not used the 1.4g, after all the reviews Id read / samples etc and the cost saving and actually trying the lens I knew the Sigma was a very good alternative, AF was faster so that already was a big thing for me. The OOF sealed the deal. To bad 85 doesn't work that well for me or I would've kept it.

That actually helps. Debating upgrading my f1.8g to the sigma f1.4. For use on d750/800

.... Its worth it imo, the G is 'clinical', very sharp if that's what you want with lots of contrast but it lacks something for me, probably why I keep buying and selling them, think Ive had 4 so far.

@Sir SR 665 shots and this is all I have that isn't private... pretty poor subject/test shot but shows the smooth OOF, the cream coloured stuff are pebbles in various shades and that would have been picked up if the bokeh was noisy.

I don't think i have ever seen you post a picture! I'm flabbergasted!

Nice pics matey.

Thanks David. Lol, most of the the stuff I do is people related so avoid possible issues. Had a nightmare client so just don't bother posting what I usually do anymore.

Cheers

Think I'll look at getting the sigma.....the art is taking too long, so I'll sell my samyang and nikon f1.8g to fund a sigma. There's one in the classifieds I think too!

Ive been waiting for the ART also, mainly... just to have used all the ARTs, big fan of Sigma primes.

You can pick them up for between 375-450 depending on what the market is doing. Top end being dealer price with warranty ime.

Ah cool. I had to get one, but it also fits in my backpack with 750 attached which is handy :)

Can everyone please be content with being skint after Christmas :)

I really liked the sigma 85 1.4 but went for a secondhand 85 1.4G just to be sure when I moved over to Nikon. Still, that deal is half the price I paid so no brainer.

Went to Leeds castle for the Notes of Christmas thing.... loads of people, couldn't get the bigger picture, so spent the little time I had shooting the 'little things'.

The whole set is here if anyones bored...

Great set of images, I really like the first two B&W shots and the shot with the rolled up music sheet.(y)

Great pics! Went there on bonfire night a few years ago when we lived in London. One of our friends refused to come with us........because she didn't want to trek all the way up to Yorkshire!!

How we laughed when we told her it was actually in KENT!!
