Nikon D750 & D780

Not that surprising for an f1.4 lens right? Nikon version is >600g as well.

I would take the Sigma over the Nikon as it would be nicer for shots of people, for a landscape lens the Nikon looks better though.

But neither are as wide as the 20mm ;)

Although wider lenses with shallow dof open up some (if not a whole lot of) creative opportunities, most people would eventually use it for landscape, architecture, cityscape etc. where corner to corner sharpness is more important. A fast 1.8 or 1.4 prime with good corners will be great, but I guess most people will find the 18-35 G just fine. It is versatile and very sharp.

If a 24 or 20mm fl is also used for city and low light shooting on streets, a wide aperture prime will beat the slow zoom every time.

Did the light room focal length thing and it seems I use a range of focal lengths between 30 and 70 the most.

I have a few at 85 but I think that was more just down to being lazy and not moving bit closer lol.

Mostly shot at f4 and again this has been due to limitations of the 24-85.

Nice shots Paul. Love yhe pan. Have you cloned something in #2? I can see a funny line just above the right hand side of the spoiler.

I cloned some dust spots in #1 but haven't touched #2 apart from adjusting the sliders in LR, I'll have a look at the original later to see what I can see.

Could be where a car rejoined the track, either way they're awesome shots. I need a long lens!

Yes it does look like two lines there, I'm at work now so will definitely check the original later.

I dithered over buying one for ages and now find that I don't use it much for my karting photos after all ! It is great for car & bike racing though and does fit in my camera bag.........just.

Having just GASsed, I think a long lens will be next on my list, or a 70-200

@PBP27 Those Bentleys were mad weren't they. Great set mate (y)

They were Paul, the silenced one in the GT Cup race was still great to watch and hear too. I'm still going through my shots from Saturday, there are more of Bentleys than anything else !

Am I being stupid or just even more stupid...

When selecting shutter speed I jump from 1/100 then 1/125 then 1/160 etc.

I swear I have see shots taken at 1/120??

Have I changed my settings or just imagining things!???
