Anyone got it? thoughts please?![]()

I really like the f/2 but IQ compared to the 24-70 at the same length means the 24-70 will get the nod. I'm sorely tempted by the 1.4 G but due to the price I'm a bit apprehensive.

Right, used the f/2 again at the weekend, realised what a great focal length it is so ordering the 1.4 tomorrow. Will keep you posted![]()

Miss Moo!! said:Well I currently have the 18-55 and 55-200 lenses which I am happy with, but I was thinking of getting either the 35mm 1.8 or 50mm as an xmas pressie... but not sure which would be best... and now I see the 35mm 1.4... hmmmm it's for my D5000.
Dman said:I think a £1400 lens would be overkill for you right now. Try shooting at 30, 35 and 50 on your 18-55 and see which you prefer.
Cant wait to see some samples.
Had been thinking about adding one of the wide primes to my collection.
I love my 85 1.4g

I've been using 24-70 and loving it especially the ability to go right close in at 70 range. But it's size and weight is really a pain. I've been looking for a replacement and tried 50 f1.4d and I don't think IQ is as good as the beast (IMO). I usually shoot at 24-50mm range. Thanks.
By about £1250 for starters! Not familiar with the 1.8 DX lens though, to be honest on a crop body I'd probably be more inclined to go for the excellent Sigma 30mm 1.4
I tried the Sigma and there is no way on earth it is better. Okay, it has the bokeh edge, but it's not as sharp and the focus accuracy is a joke at times.
