I know, but I just done Garry's lighting one, so won't be long sir ;)

Cheers, mate :)

Question: Does the lens have to be intact after the image is captured? For example if the shutter speed is set to 'Bulb' and then the camera is dropped from a hot air balloon to capture motion during the decent, does it count? Asking for a friend :exit:

Destruction of gear is allowed :D

BUT.. I/We/TP can NOT be held liable for loss :p

Movement : Well mine is up and it was no easy task hitting focus with my fully manual radioactive Asahi 50mm 1.4. Blazing sunlight so I thought I had no chance of a slow shutter speed to get anything from this outing anyway, but my metering was saying otherwise - I guess the radioactive 'stained' glass in the lens acted as a sort of Neutral Density filter and hey presto, I got a shot.

I thought I wasn't going to get anything this month as my original ideas have already been done but we had a warm day and I put the overhead fan on in the dining room, hey presto a shoehorn. Phwew........
Sods law when you look for something and can't find it. It's under your nose ;)

Well done.

I didn't think that I had even used my nifty 35mm this month, but found something speedy...

[Edit] Doh. I got my competitions confused, time to fine something with MOVEMENT...

I edited my submissions text today to add the following . . . edit : Manual focus lens at the 2024 Swansea 70.3 triathlon : Place is called Cefn Bryn : Cyclist unknown . . . just to add some info. for the viewers and you guys. I am actually chuffed I got this shot with the vintage lens being only Manual Focus. Good luck to all with the votes :p.

And the next one is rolling.. enjoy :)

I assume some post-processing is allowed? Does that extend to using AI? As long as the final picture is taken using a nifty fifty lens.

Hi David, edits are allowed, stacking and double exposures could be done.

AI is a can of worms, not sure I want to open it, if it's for minor corrections, colour, small clean ups etc. it's not really an issue, but, if it's using AI to add something that wasn't there, I'd have to say no, as it's about pure photography and using simple kit, I think if we allow Gen' Fill or AI additions it'll get messy.

Thanks for clarifying. I totally agree but I wanted to make sure.

I took this abstract image displayed on my computer monitor this afternoon. It was totally generated by playing with AI in photoshop.
I think it looks cool but breaks the whole point of the challenge.

I think if one uses AI then one should add the detail of what was done for openness.

I know that's AI Generated, but as it's not a photo that has been changed after you've taken it, as you've taken it after it's been made, it could still count??

Anyone have a view or feelings on this?

I do agree AI should be listed.

It was an AI-generated image using PS that I displayed on my monitor, I then took a pic of it using my camera with a Nifty 50 lens.
As I said I don't think this really fits what this challenge is trying to achieve. If it opens people's eyes as to what's possible then fine. But, I will use my camera to take a pic of something that's real not made up before posting.

If anybody is actually in doubt about AI or anything else in the universe just nip over to the challenge image thread and give me a vote . . . there is a free pint and fiver waiting for you if you do. Cheers :beer::ty::woot::marcel:;)

Well, that`s August done :ROFLMAO:

Thinking of having a go I am new to all this so not 100% how it works I have started with a canon 400d with a 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 II am I right in thinking that shooting at 35 mm focal length is equivalent to 50 mm or am I miles off

Hi, welcome along Chris, you're correct, 30-35mm on a crop body is close to the 50mm FF (y)

50mm ÷ 1.6 (canon crop factor) = 31.25mm on your zoom lens.
