Very nicely caught Nick... I too like how you can still work out the sign
also liking the inclusion of the underground sign to give no doubt as to what and where it is.'Ello, Movement, bang on theme and the red front on the train really appeals to me.
Crit, well, it's a tad too tight for me, especially at the front.
Cheers.
It certainly says movement but as Andy says the crop is a little tight, I dont know if you could have got more distance being on a station platform though
Movement certainly has movement but it's hard to tell which way its moving if that makes any sense, good colours and focus though.![]()
I like how the train just meets the sign on the far wall.

Hi NIck
I think thats a cracking shot for movement & thanks for saying how you did it.....![]()

pattern works nicely for me - simple shot. nice and sharp on the cut end and the OOF background adding to this. good radial patterns, can't fault the composition - its on a third, small log lower left draws the eye in. Would have been either this or a square on just the large one. think you made the right choice.
movement is great. more about timing than panning. how many trains went through before you got the timing right.also liking the inclusion of the underground sign to give no doubt as to what and where it is.

HI Nick, Great idea, the different size bubbles fit the theme as does the whole fete -and Church! - in the reflections.
Colours and exposure look to be spot on, and the shallow depth of field make the bubbles stand out well.
Lovely.- and congrats on being first one in this week

Nice one Nick
I took a bubble shot and noticed a rough reflection, so hammered off a few similar shots to try and get what I wanted... )

A bit of a lucky spot really. I'm an opportunist photographer for my 52... I'll either grab something in the course of things I do with the family, or try to pop out on my lunch break and grab something. I took a bubble shot and noticed a rough reflection, so hammered off a few similar shots to try and get what I wanted... while pursuing an excited 2 year old!

Hi Nick
Below....different take on the theme which works well , great use of DOF ...as per Alan , maybe lose the bit of table that's showing ?
Size....didn't spot the church reflection until I read your words...crazy neat idea...love the sharpness of the bubbles , the fab use of DOF![]()
Morning, Below, interesting take. Nice low angle. Paper looks a tad gray.
Small, very nice. Wasn't sure at first then I saw the church. Bet that we easy
Cheers.
Pattern: Nice shot, lots of detail and holds the eye well.
Movement: My first thought was WSBK @ Doni too. Really like the shot but like others have said feel it is a bit tight.
Below: Nice take on the theme, like the dof and lighting.
Size:
Its not easy with kids about, i used to have one on reins while at bike racing and panning, fun!
Really like this shot, the details in the bubble of the fete is one element to the theme but having the other sized bubbles in adds to that too.
Nice bubbles I tried that myself last year it was almost impossible you have done a good job on it, well done for getting the church in![]()
Very clever Nick what an excellent idea, great composition the use of 3 bubbles and love the DoF![]()
Love the idea, dof and colours![]()
DOF and focus and composition spot on for below, looks just OOF to start with, but then as you go down the page ... BAM, there it is.Nice blacks, whites and the marking pen in red adds the final touch...
bubbles I like too - did the "reflection" of the church come out the right way up, or did you have to flip it... just thinking of Iain (blakester) and his crystal ball shots??
Nice focus, can;t have been easy - bet the AF kept trying to go to the trees!!
Hi Nick
Size - well on theme with bith the relative size of the bubbles and the church within one of them. Well done. Good focus on bubbles and good b/g![]()
Really like the size idea, very nicely done
Great idea and great capture, the bubbles look like baubles.
I like your take on the theme Nick, its got a lot going for it
It has depth too, with the different sized bubbles floating off into the background. The colours, reflections and composition all come together to make a very pleasing imge.
Good work all round
Sorry to have been slow in commenting, Nick. I hope I can get to a few of yours in one go!
Movement: you've pulled off what I attempted and failed at. I found a lot of the time the moving object rather disintegrated (shuuter time too long, I guess). There's the merest hint of that here, but it really does look covincing and the background is solidly sharp!
Below: nicely done, good control of focus and colour to make the point.
Size: an amazing idea, well executed. Great shot, well done that man!

Great idea Nick - i had process of elimination in mt mind but couldn't convert that idea to a useful shot...
Great job this week, liking the shallow DOF, and the placement of the characters through the BG, feeling you have got 'just' enough DOF, but might like all the candlestick in focus - there is an area in focus in front of teh candlestick, I would trade for a bit more to the rear... but as we're talking millimetres here, that would be being ultra picky.
Nice one.![]()

I really like this too. Nothing to add, but agree with the DoF comment in relation to focus on the candlestick

have a great time mister
