Having just upgraded to an EOS 10D from a Powershot compact, I'm in need of some advice for an external flashgun.
I'm mostly going to be using it in low light building interiors and underground bunkers/tunnels. The largest areas I foresee are in the Maginot Line forts (http://www.bunkertours.co.uk/the_maginot_line_metrich.htm) and the submarine base at Balaklava (http://www.weirdomatic.com/secret-submarine-base.html).
So far, the ones I have seen are the Canon 430EX and 550EX, Jessops 360AFDS, Nissin 466, 620 and 622, Metz MZ54, Sigma EF 500 and EF530 DG Super, Yong Nuo YN-460 and YN-465. At the moment, I'm leaning towards the Jessops model. I am new to this, but for my uses, I really don't see much of a difference between the Canon and Jessops models, apart from 7/19 meters less range and possible compatibility problems. I have no need for wireless or master/slave at this point in time.
Any help received would be great.
Thanks
Mike
