my phone is up for renewal so what's the one to have

the palm pre has just been released. its being marketed as the iphone killer, so that might be worth checking out, or the new sony ericssen phone with a 12mp camera. but it depends on what you are looking for in a phone other than for it to make calls and text messages
No disrespect intended, but don't waste your time even thinking about the Palm Pre.
Widely heralded as the biggest anticlimax in phone history!
As Krypto says, it all depends on what you want the phone to do and how you will use it as to what is the best handset to look at.
by who? i have it and i've been extremeley impressed with it, certainly glad I got it instead of the iPhone. The OS is extremely well put together and works nice and fluidly, its got all the bells and whistles you expect from a current generation of mobile, its nice looking, very easy to use, highly recommended from me
I've just been given a new iphone 3gs from work and am installing itunes now, so I'll let you know in a few hours.
Personally, I think the new HTC Leo (due November) looks very good -windows 6.5 mobile plus multitouch)

See the iphone might be the be all and end all of mobile phones but they don't work in our village at all, all I hear is bloody iphone all the timeso I just smile sweetly and say, would you like to use my LG Cookie
Orange is the only provider we can really get in our village. O2 is one of the worst
Might be a good phone but if you haven't got the signal to use it, it becomes a tad useless![]()
Orange get to provide the Iphone in Novermber, so you do get the opportunity to have an iPhone on Orange.
02's network is pretty good, definately better than Vodaphone's, but I have ocaisionally had no signal (down a welsh gold mine, in the tube, or in devizes)
The strange one was on holiday in Sri Lanka we had nearly a full signal absolutely everwhere, including in valleys, in the middle of nowhere. Why can't the Uk be covered like that.

I'm currently with o2 and I regularly have coverage issues - even in areas on the edge of major cities. Rubbish really.
Plus IMO the o2 phone offerings and contract prices for their premium phones (read palm pre and iphone) are beyond ridiculous. They take the ******

£30 p/m
250mins
100texts and a new phone every year and it works out at £17 p/m
Virgin mobile do a contract similar but...
£15 p/m
New shiny phone
500 mins
unlimited texts
and if you dont use all your mins the monthly price is less, I have only paid my £18 monthly charge twice during my 6 months so far and have contacted Virgin to see if its correct and YES it is......if you dont use it you dont pay......nuff said![]()

Yes great deal BUT... out here in the where we are, vodafone is the only one that works - everyone else is ****. That is the only reason I'm with voda, and I'm on the best deal on voda I can find I think. I'll convince my parents to move to the town... then we can get cable tv, cheap broadband!!!:![]()
