New Ford Mustang

The very latest, newest, yes possibly nice, but Aston styling? Nah. Looks that last or stand out or demonstrate presence? Nah, not to me. However that can have its advantages.

The newer ones stole the look of Aston Martin; I think they look alright. The pre '07 was eclipsed even by Octavias in styling. On the same note, the Astons badly need a new image

They haven't stole the Aston Martin look. The pre airflow mk1 Cortina had the same grill 50yrs ago so they have just rekindled their own. The ends of Aston grills are curved inwards.

ah yes the cortina - know n for its style and presence, second only to an E type jag ... and every other car ever made except the Maxi, the Edsel, and the Austin Allegro

You're not a car person are you? I can tell. ;)

Mk1 cortina is a cult classic and not all that bad if lotus thought it was ok to fettle with

Er - Colin Chapman got paid to fettle the bloody awful Ford Cortina!

The ongoing fettling meant that when they cured the back suspension from falling out, the roof creased!

Chapman got paid 'cos he needed money for his addiction - real racing cars! Towards the end of his life, he got paid by people like David Thieme and John Z DeLorean; paid so well that his acountant, Fred Bushell, went to chokey after Chpman's death!

Chapman nearly got paid by Ford for a car to compete at Le Mans, but Ford didn't like the design. Chapman kept the design for himself and it evolved into the Lotus Europa. Ford ended up with the GT40.

Worked out better for everyone! Chapman's backbone chassis sports cars could never handle more than about 150bhp or ever grippier tyres; Eric Broadley's monococque could cope with four times that power!
