I hate it and now they have taken away the opt out :mad::mad:

lots of complaints on the feedback, I just added mine

Came on when I cleared my cache

People will always complain at change...hell even I do sometimes but it's life and for me Flickr is not important enough for me to worry about it, all I need to know is how to upload, I've desktop software for that, and to share photos :)

Good for you, for me and by the looks of the number of complaints it's crap for many others

On the spur of the moment I went on today to show a class how it works. Boy, did I look a k***. Have they done away with groups? I see no link to them from the front page.

It's trying so hard to be like 500px. :bonk:

Top black(ish) 'Flickr' bar and communities.

Quite like it myself, just needs a good look round.

Really unimpressed with the new Flickr design, especially the fact that it seems impossible to find the BBCode section to share images on forums. Fortunately I was able to opt out and have done so. They need to fix a LOT before it gets rolled out to everyone!

I'm still able to opt out, but I don't like that you can't filter the names of sets and groups you're adding your pictures to; that was a major UI gain when the introduced it a few years back.

It's looking like for now, it's just the English version that's in the new layout, change language and it's the old one

I don't know how same can still opt out unless it's your cache

I've switched to Spanish then had chrome translate to English but that's not ideal

It's exasperating when you view an image in the Following or Communities section and there's no menu at the top. You then click on that cross in the top right corner, thinking it's just an overlay, and you're landed on that persons own page and not taken back to where you came from.

It's the same kind of fault that searching had a few months ago when you were sent back to a page of fluffy kittens.

When I build a website it's not released/published until all those basic errors have been sorted. Flickr seem to have a change it/throw it out/correct it later approach to design.

Click on the image you want the code for, when it opens, there is a box with an arrow in it bottom right under image, click and box pops up with code in it.
In the beta version, its on the middle right after clicking the image.

I loved the new Beta layout for photos, where comments etc were on the right? Is that what's been implemented?

Or is this just a minor change I've not noticed?

The new change removes a decent amount of features that the majority use. I changed to the new layout and had a right hell of time trying to find something as simple as the BB codes to share on this forum. This change isn't a case of everything is still there, just in a new location. It appears to be a change where some things are still there but in a new location, others aren't and some of them are so well hidden it's almost like you need a flickr degree to scout them out

Mine hasn't changed yet and, if it does, I'll probably look for somewhere else to host my photos for forum sharing.

Mine's not changed? I've tried the new beta and I quite like the layout, subject to a few criticisms which I have passed on to Flickr and then opted out. For me it works really well as I have a widescreen monitor and a lot of 3:2 photos, If I had a normal monitor and a lot of Panos It would be different.

Like the comments down the side so that you can scroll though without the photo disappearing

And the photo description with all the useful links not working properly any more. To be frank without that I don't see any point to continue using flickr and this is exactly what I told them. It is becoming another free wallpaper heaven or instagram and a playground for getty.

Half the code is covered by the images

I to couldn't access the BBC Code section. I'm sticking with the old version for the time being.

What new layout? Looks the same here as it always has.... well, for months anyway.

Well on Safari I'm getting the old version

Had a quick look, and grabbed a quick screenshot of the link you need...

and the blue selected text when pasted directly into the reply box says

and shows as

Flickr is for sharing photos and they are simply making it to difficult to do this, the old version with the easily accessible BBCode works ideal for me. Just cannot seem to post an image using the beta version.:bonk::shrug:

And a very nice looking bike ( handle bar) it looks too :D

I still have the option to opt out like it's been for awhile, i'm on chrome so it's bizzare how it's different for everyone:thinking:

Half the code box for me is missing and the photo overlaps the code so cannot grab it.

I don't have an opt out option, was never given one....and whilst I'm not too keen on the new layout, I'm sure I'll find it as easy to use given time as any other change that they've made.

AHH got it.

You first of all need to click those two little arrows to the right of your image.....that condenses all the stuff on the right so it looks like so.... then when you click the 'share this photo' bit it comes up like so

how did you get it steve? I can see what everyone says if i flick over to the new style, with half the share box hidden

Edit just seen Lee's comment! cheers!

It is far from intuitive though, keep it simples Flickr people.

I've found using my phone to be far easier than the iMac for posting images on here from Flickr since the update. Crazy!

Actually nope i don't have those arrows and your side bar is different to mine... thank god i can switch back, although i guess i need to learn for when i can't
