New D90 Owner - WOW !

I'm not trying to "prove" anything. Just saying that given that a D300 sold here for £700 the other day, one on Nikonians for £550 the other day that you can find them for under £800. Sure, no warranty - but its £100 less than MBP with warranty?

What is your point?

ahhhh stop bumping the thread its making me want a d90 lol

im a novice and have great results with the D90 on the auto settings, i love it:clap:

Your point wasn't that "a D300 sold here for £700 the other day, one on Nikonians for £550 the other day", your statement was that there "several for under £800" and linked to two on Ebay that were only loose change beneath that price.

My point is that your statement was less watertight than the Titanic

Im going to get one , depending on how much you can get staff discount for at argos

I think 4 is several. I don't see the point in debating this, as I don't really see why its important? I'm sure there are more but I've personally got better things to do then trawl forums and Ebay looking for D300 prices.

My point stands. 4 is several. Plural. More than one.

my apologies to mikey, i seem to have hijacked your thread. i think your original point was that the d90 is awesome

i paid £729 with Kit lens, witch is a very good lens for general shots on days out

You didn't link to four, you linked to two. That's not several (adj: Being of a number more than two or three), it's a couple. The other two prices you cite are apocryphal.

The reason it's important is that it it is the tenet that your whole argument is based on. You had the time to trawl for the two "bargain" D300s that illustrated your point, ergo you must have had to scroll past all those that didn't.

Your point that four is more than two, stands. Your point regarding D300 prices, doesn't.

Back on topic, has any pre-ordered/got hold of any of the D90 specific books that if I remember correctly were coming out around now?

Never quite sure of their worth, I bought a highly recommended Nikon D50 book a few years back (called "Digital Field Guide") and it was appalling, nothing more than a modified book from a previous Nikon camera guide...that unfortunately they hadn't even amended correctly, so it discussed things that the D50 didn't even have.

I understand the "Magic Lantern" books are pretty good, the D90 one appears to be out now.

Why is this an issue? Clearly the member is trying to help, not to enrage others. Admittedly I am a long time lurker short term poster but having read several of your posts you come off as pedantic, petty and irritating! I am not meaning to have a needless jab (as you are with the previous poster), and I know that several members of this forum feel the same way. If you have nothing productive to add to this thread then don't post anything at all - opinions like yours should be spoken using your INSIDE voice, not your outside keyboard.

I'm sure you're a sound bloke but leave it!

Having been a Canon man for years. I decided to change camps and buy a D90 now that the banks are giving a fantastic interest on savings. 47p for last month, less tax of course. I have to admit the D90 is a good camera When I paid about 1800 notes for a Canon D5
