Im off to Ben Nevis in about 3 weeks and will need a good light Tripod with a ball head to take with me, I have around £250 to spend.

I don't think my cheap Tripod will hack it up there.

price and weight wise i would have to say Redsnapper Carbon with change

take a look at the Redsnapper range, you wont be disappointed

I have the ordinary redsnapper tripod and thus far I'm quite impressed.

I'm 6'2" and the tripod is able to put my camera at eye level. Not too heavy but I wouldn't like to carry it up Ben Nevis. For the money the carbon version may be the way to go.

Another thumbs up for Redsnapper, good gear for the money

Manfrotto 190CXPRO3 and 486RC2 ballhead should just slide in under your budget and is probably among the lightest combo's you'll find for the money. I use this set up in the Welsh mountains and can recommend it. Don't recall the Redsnapper Carbon being particularly light...
