Smoking to be banned in cars from next October.
Sorry about the link source :D

In an historic vote in February, Tory and Lib Dem MPs backed plans to make it illegal to light up in a car in England,
punishable by a £60 fine or points on a motorist’s licence.

Oh wait a minute, its not about health issues,
its just another tax on motorists,
That's OK then :)

good.
having myself dropped a cig into my lap while driving it should be up there with mobile phones :D
I did that many years ago, knocked the "top off" and actually hadn't realised
as it stayed alight.

I only realised when my testicles started to warm up :D

The ban is only if kids are in the car though, so thats ok, will stick the grandson in the boot, then no one will know :D

just in case anyone is having a sense of humour failure, this is a joke btw

Sounds like a plan to me

Good. It ruins cars. I've cleaned headlining had ha yellow running off. Not to mention the holes in seats and carpets. But then I do have customers that have cars valeted because they smoke. My concern is for kids. I remember sitting in the back of my dads car when it was full of fag smoke.

The best way to stop you being so outraged though Cobra would be to give up. Imagine all the money youd save you could then spend on gear ;)

You need an American style taxi with a big window between the front and back.

...and I mean camera gear lol
Damn it :(

Ah but who says I do smoke?
I may just be outraged on other peoples behalf,
at having their civil liberties eroded even more :D

I'm going to say the obvious but what about the liberties of non smokers. Why should they're health be damaged because someone else likes a fag? Unfortunately its a habit that doesn't just effect the person doing it. I'd like to ride my bike really fast but I'm not allowed to because bit could harm me or others. What's the difference?

I quit many moons ago. A mate was supposed to stop at the same time too. He didn't and has since spent over £30k on cigs. I've spent that on holidays to the Maldives etc.

Sods law I'll get eaten by a shark before he gets lung cancer

LOL everything we do is a risk, like walking out the front door in the morning,
or even staying indoors TBH :D

I'm not a smoker, nor do I own a car but I do wonder how anyone is able to afford to smoke and keep a car going these days anyway. You'd have to be well off to do that.

Yeah but own up, you'd do it if you thought you'd get away with it.
I know I did in my biking days ;)

Actually they are anywhere between £6 & £10 / 20
depending on the brand and where you buy them.

Thanks for reminding me I'm out raged YET AGAIN!
:D

Are you allowed to eat while driving?
Probably, until you hit something while doing it ;)

TBH I don't know, but just the same as the girlies putting make-up on on their commute
(Thats what the windscreen mirror is for right? )

Changing channels on the radio,
inserting a CD
and a whole host of other things we do while driving
(But we won't mention phones ;) )

God what a nanny state we live in.
So when are they going to ban children from cars they have to be the biggest distraction of all.
Excellent point, at least they have to be strapped in these days, its a start.

But I don't think a "gagging order" has been approved yet? :D

All of which can earn you a spanking / harsh language / points / fine.
My car never carries kids so I don't give a b****r :-)

But should the need arise for whatever reason, Yvonne has the answer :)

Or, as they say, is this the thin edge of the wedge ?

First off, am I the only one who misread the thread title as outed rather than outraged?

I treat baby on board stickers as a warning that the driver's distracted.

No no...You don't understand.
The need NEVER arises, and people know this :D

I ignore them....unless they're letting the little b****r drive.
