My first proper photo job. Actor portrait. REVEALED, PAGE 7.

Lol. I'm sure you've noticed I've got issues with my wording at the best of times.

Thanks everyone.

:D I may not sleep tonight.

I thought you'd covered that in post one. :naughty:

Seriously, there has been lots of good advice here, as always, but don't loose sight of the golden rule. KEEP IT SIMPLE. Allow:naughty: yourself to concentrate on seeing through the viewfinder and working with the subject as much as possible. The more lights, reflectors, stands and whatever you employ, the more you risk missing something and not getting the image you wanted.

Would it look a bit odd if you turned up with 20 assistants from here?? :D  I promise not to show you up...:bonk:
Good luck and I hope it goes well. I'd love to do something like this one day. ;)

Kev.

Don't call your stunt double a stunt double though, they are your assistant. OTherwise they might not let you in. Or possibly out. I'm blathering

Don't worry about it too much as they have probably been photographed a thousand times before. Just keep it simple and give your client the style of shot they want, of course shooting both shapes.

How about suggesting a film he is in?

that can only narrow it down, but you won't be telling us who!

also, going by the fact that they are filming in glasgow, I did a search.

the only name I could come up with is Val Kilmer....

i doubt its him!

oh, and Nicolas Cage.

but if it was him, you would of turned down the job in the fear that his ugliness, bad acting and strange personality would have broken your kit, and driven you insane:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Ha ha. Classic.

You might be shocked when I tell you, but I think some people will be impressed. He's actually done a lot of theatrical work too.

Could it be Dougray Scott....

ive heard sean connery is a dck with photographers, a little up himself.

Good luck though, how did you get the gig?

Hollywood stars in glasgow.
Surely not.....
hahaha

Good luck mate, will be interesting to see who it.

Obi Won Kenobi himself - Ewan McGregor?

If its Sean Connerey (sp?), I am not speaking to you :D:D

Thought you were going to say that you were going to take your two flashes and tripod to bed with you!

Good luck for tomorrow mate.

I thought he was going to use them to wake himself up in the morning after
he has nodded off in the early hours

Good luck

well good luck kayjay and you better let us all know who it was/how it went tomorrow :D

Cheers everyone! I've got a few concepts I'm hoping to try in the 5 minutes I've got. I've decided to travel light with one flash gun and reflector. I'll be shooting through an 85mm 1.8 lens probably at high ISO around f2.8-5.6 with either a custom white balance and RAW or just shoot RAW with the portrait setting.

It's for a serious campaign for the portrait will not be a cheery one unless they feel it is appropriate. Natural light will be the order of the day I think. We'll see how it goes.

Again, thanks for all the advice and words of encouragement. I think this might be what I need to find focus again.

Peter Mullan is my guess.

My guess is Roland Rat isn't he making a come back:lol:

Mel Gibson with the blue slap and Tam O'Shanter?

I'm embargoed till the end of April. But the shoot went fantastic. Thanks for all the advice I received, it came in very handy indeed. Thoroughly enjoyed it and the subject was an absolute joy to work with. Unfortunately I can't say much more than that, but rest assured that when the embargo has expired I'll be showing off my work! :D

Once again, the wealth of information and advice and encouragement I got from people on here really means a lot to me.

Glad it went well, roll on end April.

Aprils not far away I can wait.

Well done and glad it was a good experience.

Glad it went well for you. :)

What, if anything, would you do differently next time?

I'd have spent more time looking around the location before meeting up, but couldn't as I bumped into them before I could get a chance to look around even though I was an hour early.

Also, there was no reason to be nervous. I don't think I could have had a nicer client.
