My first proper photo job. Actor portrait. REVEALED, PAGE 7.

Well done, nice shots (loving the mono one) and building the suspense like that you ought to work in drama! And I don't think anyone guessed Brian Cox did they? Unless Brian Cox is actually Whoopi Goldberg in drag...

I've been silently following this thread. Was well worth the wait!! Brian Cox is an amazing actor and great to hear he is a nice guy too.

I love the photos! I too would be interested to know the lighting and setup details! :)

Nice shots Kayjay! Everytime I see Brian Cox I just get reminded of the evil guy from X-Men :p

What an excellent bit of experience for you.
Nice one

Excellent, love number 2 and 3! Well dignified, looks like someone shoved a broomhandle up him in number 1 mind :)

I'm dead jealous.

Also disillusioned, if he's such a nice guy how do I maintain the illusion when he's playing all those villains? :(

Great work, the black and white image is top notch, well done.

Yeah, they are nice shots, but I feel somewhat deflated because they are a little 'posed' for want of a better word. To me they just don't look like they have that X-factor, that 'thing' that makes you go, WOW!. Technically very good mind.

Don't want to rain on parades and all that – just MO (a very humble one) :)

Liking those shots lots. Despite your nerves and calls for advice, you've gone along and nailed the job there. They look perfect for purpose.

I'd hazard a guess that all the folks who don't recognise him will have seen him in something, he's one of those sorts.

Great shots mate. Number three is a belter indeed.

Well worth the wait and great portraits.

The original Hannibal lecter. [manhunter the only film ever i could'nt get out of my head!]

True, whenever I see Brian Cox in anything, I always refer back to Manhunter.

Great shots KayJay. Now how many times have you returned to those shots thinking 'I did these' :)

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Yeah I'm pretty proud of the shots, I've got a few more that are not posed, but the job spec was to get a portrait shot of him looking at me with the ribbon on. We had a bit of banter afterward and I shot some shots for him to keep which were a little more candid.

Great stuff!! The mans a legend I can't believe some folk haven't heard of him, I mean he's probably even been on Taggart or Take the High Road

Well, if he's been on take the high road why didn't someone say already?

You've honestly never heard of Brian Cox?

Great stuff!! The mans a legend I can't believe some folk haven't heard of him, I mean he's probably even been on Taggart or Take the High Road

Ohhhhhhhh you mean THAT Brian Cox......... nope, sorry, still don't remember seeing this geezer afore :D

Your man
was in Thérèse Raquin
with Kate Nelligan
of whom I'm a fan

Why not go after Prof Brian Cox next?

Great stuff. Number 2 is my favourite, oozing character.

Ohhhhhhhh you mean THAT Brian Cox......... nope, sorry, still don't remember seeing this geezer afore :D

Ditto - and there's me thinking it would be a famous actor :D

I'm only narked because I thought there might be a chance that it was Daniel Craig :love::love:

The guy's got a CBE so he's got to be something pretty good! I've just checked his IMDB listing and can honestly say I've never seen anything he's been in, maybe only the episodes of Frasier but I don't even recognise his face - I'm not a massive film or TV buff so that's probably why, I'd be more likely to know the members of some crap 80's band

Much kudos for getting the gig though and great shots, if you ever do get to Daniel Craig there is cash waiting in return for an invite ;)
