Hi all,
I hope this is the right place to post this. I just wanted to post my thoughts on a recent Jessops order I have placed.
I placed a rather substantial order with them on 1st November. 4 items in total, including a Canon 35L F1.4. I paid a large deposit and did the remainder on finance, which is all agreed.
Now, 3 of the items are in stock, but the Canon 35L is out of stock and on 'special order'. It states delivery should be within 28 days. Fair enough, but when I placed the order I (wrongly) assumed that I would received in stock items straight away....wrong! I called them and was told this, and I offered to pay extra postage so they could post them, and they refused. I really don't understand this. They've taken my deposit from my account, they have the confirmation from the finance company, and they have the stock, why can't I have my items?
Also, I've called their customer service team now a total of 5 or 6 times. Useless! A guy called Francis has promised to call me back twice and he has never called me back, and now every time I call for him he is conveniently unavailable (tried about 3 or 4 times now). I now always get through to a guy called Rob who is no help whatsoever.
I've asked multiple times how long it will be for the 35L to come in as they tell me the order is placed with their supplier, but they keep changing the times from "next week some time", to "within 28 days", to "we don't know". The general information provided from them is crap.
So basically, 18 days after ordering, I'm £600 lighter in the pocket, finance is agreed for £xxxx amount, and I have no items.
I just needed to get it off my chest really, and to share my experience. Moral of the story, don't assume things when placing orders
