This is Hockly Heath just off the M40/M42, it's great to finally have some stars  it just wish I had known with a little more notice we could have finally got that meet done :bang:

Day 205 - Day into Night

Well I've pushed my PPing skills a little today and to be honest I'm not that happy I think that I need to do a lot more work on this style of photo and the taking of the photo's for them before I'll be really happy with the style :(

Nice Matt, but really another windmill.....??

Thanks Jason, unfortunately yes another windmill, only shot it as a backup on the way to getting a different day time shot but in the end I really wasn't happy with that photo :(

Looks fairly good Matt, in what way are you not happy with it?

I think that it would have been better with a transition from day to night being done vertically :( so will be trying that soon :D

Like it Matt

Thanks Dave :D

Day 206 - Pushing the Limit's

In many way's this was done only to give myself a challenge but still I'm rather pleased with the final outcome of capturing star trailing in an urban environment with an illuminated building as the subject, the subject being the fine detail on the old county and crown court buildings in Warwick

This is made up of 286 x 1.6second exposures @ f/4.5 / ISO400 this shows how brightly lit the building was but I've still managed to pick out a lot more stars than could be seen with then naked eye :D

oh wow that is excellent!!!! Can't believe just how many images it took though. Tell me you didn't have to convert the raw's?

Thanks :D Indeed it was a lot of exposures :D but then this is possibly the most extreme of location that you would consider doing a star trail  but that was the point  and yeah I did have to process all those RAW my processor really didn't like that

Great work so far bud. Really liking 205

Thank you :D I've just got in from shooting today's so I've gotta process that now :D glad you like 205 as it was a bit of an experiment :D

Day 207 - Golden Moon

A shot of this evening moon before it set it had a distinct orange glow to it this evening from the setting sun :D

Very good star trail Matt, considering the location. I have missed the moon, thanks to clouds! How's the sharpness on your original file, as it looks a little soft here.

Looks reasonable on the original so I can only thing it may be a flickr resizing issue :D

it looks basically sharp but a little over exposed to me - maybe move the mid tones to the right a bit ?

I'll have to have a play around with it later see just what I can pull out of this :thumb:

Day 208 - Walk Talk

I don't know why but this little Robin was really prancing round on my table this afternoon so I couldn't resist taking a photo of him :D

Lovely shot... now why is it they look skinny in summer and fat in winter?

Lovely shot... now why is it they look skinny in summer and fat in winter?

Thanks John, I think it's just they fatten up a little for the cold and fluff themselves up

Is it Christmas already?

Indeed  now where's the snow to cool things down a little :suspect:

Matt

Thanks John, I think it's just they fatten up a little for the cold and fluff themselves up

Also in winter they fluff themselves up for insulation a lot

Lovely Robin shot Matt, only thing bugging me is that over exposed bit to the left hand side, kind of looks like a monkey nut or something?

Thanks Michael, it's a Cashew nut to be precise and I left it there rather than cloning it out to show why the Robin was there :D it looked like he was straining to look around as if to say "Is this anyone's? if not I'm gonna have it :D"

That robin shot is fantastic, Matt.
Great depth and you've captured a bit of his character too!
