Nice catch, im guessing this is the same one i was shooting whilst it was on the ground a while back, as i cant imagine many going into bagington

More than likely mate  I think that they still have a couple of them at CVT that are operational but I know that 2 were sold to that airline in Canada that was on Discovery (Buffalo Airlines I think was the name of that airline)

Day 213 - Introducing Electra...

...She's a real stunner of the classic airliner world :D you saw a fleeting glance of here yesterday, so today I went to get a better picture and here you see here putting on a powerful and a little smoky take off from her home bases of CVT

That's mate, I would have liked to have used a slower shutter speed but still getting used to the big siggy so that will take a little bit of time to shoot as slow as I would have needed today :bonk: glad you like her :D

Hi Matt, quite like that, the b+w works very with it. We had an Apache helicopter over the house yesterday, shame the camera was tucked in the bag!

Thanks Michael  I'm pleased with how this has come out  a nice little bit of prop blur and some good smoky exhaust  we had an Apache over a couple of weeks back and I totally missed it even though I had the camera out and the right lens on :bang:

Day 214 - Royal Blue

Royal Leamington Spa Town Hall, under wonderful blue evening skies this evening one of my favourite photographers once said to me when I was moaning about the weather that "If he didn't take his camera out in the rain he'd never take any photo's" so with his words in my mind I didn't let the rain put me off this evening and headed out, I waited for the heavy rain to pass and then sprung into action, I have to say the rain caused the lights to reflect nicely off the surface of the road :D

Hi Matt, I really like the reflections on the wet road! Having lived in Blackpool for quite a few years I used to go out with my dad as a young girl and help him take the illumination shots. He always preferred to go out in the rain or just after to catch the reflections as well!:):)

Thanks Sarah, there is a certain appeal to it  I really think the blackpool illuminations may be in order for a photography trip this year

yes that works for me, nice one

a well known photographer once told me ' there is no such thing as bad weather, just poorly prepared photographers'

Thanks Pete, it really is very true about the weather

Really like that. Did you have a brolly?

Thanks  and nope, I just waited for the rain to ease of to a drizzle and then went for it, I did have a brolly in the car if I really needed it though

Day 215 - Stars and Stripes

Well based on some processing I learnt the other evening I decided to have some fun with it, the trails were shot this evening on on the location sections of the M40 that I know can be go for trails at any time of the year and then the star's come from a frame I shot for a trail at Burton Dassett earlier in this challenge in May :D

Just a quick look in before I get some sleep ready for our trip to lincoln. Cracking pic Matt and a nice bit of processing, which has worked very well.

Have fun in Lincoln mate, look forward to seeing some photo's  I'm pleased with how this has come out

Really like all the last 3 shots, Matt.

B&W works so well on Electra and the capture of motion is perfect.
Great light trails in front of the town hall.
The last one is awesome, love the processing, great clouds/stars.

Day 216 - Support

That word support has many meanings for all of us  however in this Olympic time many will say that the biggest meaning of support is how we backup and cheer on our Olympians in there greatest challenge...

For me personally one of the greatest sources of support has come in all the great support I get from the wonderful people of TP that for some reason still follow and support my challenge still even now as I approach my 600th day, I know that I would never have got this far without that continued support

A solid silver ingot struck to commemorate the 2012 Olympic Games

It was good this evening to make a little use of my flashgun as it's a long time since it's seen any use :suspect:

Day 217 - 1000mm closer

Our moon at 1000mm using my 150-500mm plus a borrowed 2x TC boy manual focus was hard the slightest tap had the move wobbling all over the place, so I don't think this is a sharp as it could have been :(

Still a great moon though... I shot mine at 800mm and that baby was all over the place... And boy does the moon move fast...chasing that blighter between shots was tough for me..

Hell yeah it moves fast  especially when your on 10x live view it's our of view in about 10 seconds, I'm happy with it if I can still see room for improvement :D

I think that is a great moon shot. I'd be proud

Thanks as I've said to Kev, I'm happy but can see room for improvement :D

Day 218 - Best of British

Well after and evening spent roving around the Warwickshire countryside with little to no inspiration for my POTD I got home and sat to enjoy the last of the evenings sun with a nice Cider and then it struck me what better image for a photo of the day

It's also appropriate to have this product which to me represents the very best of British on a weekend where Team GB has been doing so very well

Moon still looks good despite the slight oof, it is incredibly hard work at such extreme focal lengths. Nice shot of the cider Matt, very nice pp on it.

Your not wrong mate it was murder at 1000mm  all over the shop and out of frame in under a minute, glad you like it  I'm really pleased with the cider

Matt that weston's shot is bloody awesome , it just makes folk feel like taking part !!

Thanks Vince, glad you like the cider shot, it came out just how I wanted and tasted gooooood :D
