Day 71 - Passage of Time

Well with a little but of unexpected and unforecasted clear weather I headed out this evening to do a little star trail. I recently came across this old abandoned property and thought that it would make a great location for a little bit of star trail fun

On this one I quite liked the effect of the aircraft and the fisheye against the normal curves of the trails  the just seem to work so where as I normally would take them out this time I've taken the decision not to :D

This is made of 77 x 45 second exposures @ f/3.5 ISO800

Looks cool! Make it a timelapse video! Or are the exposures too long for that?

Thanks :D You can make it timelaspe I've done that in the past but it's not that interesting beucase the stars are only a tiny point of light

Matt, i do think you are slightly mental, in a good way though! It takes a bit of patience to do 77 45 sec exposures. The result is great though, keep it up.

Phil.

What a collection of photo's matt, good effort to your dedication :)

Only slightly  I shall have to try hard to make sure your in no doubt about my mental state  To be honest it takes a lot more patience when your on your own but last night I had Darrell (Thedodo) to chat with and the hour or so passed before I'd even thought about it

Thanks I'm really loving it this year I truly think that I've turned a corner in the standard and consistency of my out put and I can only put that down to all the help that I've received from TP since I joined

Matt just seen your Day 65, what a great shot.
I loved the time lapse video, you just know you have to do a tutorial.

Thanks Darren :D when I've got some more experience in TL photography I will maybe right a guide to it, but with that being my first attempt I don't feel I've done enough to consider writing a guide

Now to edit todays photo :D

Day 72 - Golden Trails :D

This evening on the way back from Birmingham this evening looking in the rear view mirror and seeing the sunset so I couldn't resist getting off the motorway and doing some light trails

Thanks Ben, it's nice to have done it as it's the first I've done this year with a nice sunset, I've had good sky's but no golden skys :bonk:

Really like the trails shot. Simple and the orange glow of the sky adds something to it.
I have to agree with what you said about turning out more consistent, top quality shots this year. You certainly are :)

Thanks Ben, I'm really pleased with my efforts this year, I've done so much more away from the house this year and I really think that has helped me  but I'm sure I will still do some more still life painting as I really enjoy that

Matt

Hi Matt, thae star trail is great, I like the fisheye effect on there. Great shot. The light trail was well worth the stop, lovely hint of colour in the sky.

Thanks Michael, I have to say I love the star trail myself it's a great location that I've a lot of plans for so I'm pleased that I've found it :D

The light trail just had to be done as the sky just looked great

Day 73 - The Long Walk...

...I've been pondering recently the reasons that someone would take that long walk be that to get married, celebrate a birth or end of life, I thought that this angle made for quite a nice view using the entrance to the church grounds to frame the church

Day 75 - Whoopsie

Well today I've been a colossal pillock, I had planned to do this photo all day so when I got home I grabbed the 50mm from out of the car turned round and fumbled to lock the car, as I did this the 50mm slipped out of my hands and clattered over the drive :bang: :bang: so I'm a more than a little :annoyed: at myself

As a result while I still managed to get the image I wanted just, I do think that it could have been a lot sharper than this :bonk:

I know that feeling all to well when my 200mm went flying lessons out of my camera bag!

Nice low angle on the daffs.

Thanks Michael, the Daffs worked out well  though you would never believe the level of clone work that when on :D It is flipping annoying to have dropped it :bonk:

Day 76 - Feelings of Spring

This Daffy looks like it's feeling a little down and miserable, I guess the the weather, truth be told I know how it feels :bonk:

Day 77 - Contemplation

Today I went for a little bit of quite time actually inside my village church, I think that this is the first time that I've ever posted a photo from the inside of the church in my challenges...

Here you see the main windows above the altar of All Saints Church, Stretton-on-Dunsmore

I toyed with correcting the perspective of this one, but in the end preferred this look

Nice shot, if I ever get a flame retardant suit I may venture into a church ;)

Thanks, it should be added this is a single exposure, no HDR/sudo or real  you should get in there, I don't particularly hold a religious view but I don't find them wonderful places to spend time and to take photo's

Matt

I like the church shot Matt, a nice perspective.

Thanks Michael, I thought it worked really well, I'm loving how much I'm getting from working RAW files now, I've become a complete convert

Day 78 - Panoramic at St. Peter's

Well this afternoon for the first time in 3 days of the challenge my photography has left the village  this is a panorama made up of 6 portrait orientation images  and it shows the church and grounds of St. Peter's in Kineton, Warwickshire

I know right the weather was rubbish today, then I look out side and it's clear  what on earth is with that

i know i was wondering all day what to do for my potd, then just as vicky drops me off to work i look up and its crystal clear:shrug:

 I've found a couple of new locations today  one local one not quite so local

ohh thats good, always like new places, when you say not so local, exactly how far?

15ish miles  down the fosse, it's I think part of the old Gaydon V bomber base :D

Day 79 - Colourful Curves

This evening I met up at Gaydon with fellow TPer Steve (smokeygoose) to do some light trails at one of my favourite location, its somewhere that I'm still working on to get the most out of it, this is the best I've done from here the colour in the sky is very appealing, I still think that there is room for improvement in this scene, if there had been a little more cloud in the sky I think that would have really set the light off perfectly

For those that follow my challenge I appreciate that there have been a few light trails recently I get a lot of satisfaction from these but don't worry you will get a break from them soon as we are coming to the end of the light trail season :(
