interesting shot matt.. is it the lawns that give the shot a curved feel?? i like the way you got the gravel continuing beyond the building..

Thanks Kev, I think part of the curved impression is down to the lawn but also some of it will be down to a little bit of barrel distortion from the lens but I rather like that effect personally :D

Nice pic Matt. Looks like a good location.

Thanks Michael, it's a great location that I hope I'll visit again in the future

Day 325 - Going Retro :D

I don't really do enough B&W photography so this one I took with the sole intention of converting it to B&W, I thought that it would work with the moody grey sky that we have had all day

That's quite a nice looking scene Matt, the black and white has worked well.

Thanks Michael, I'm really lucky to have this as my home, this is another photo from the centre of the village that I live in

Day 326 - Glorious Bokeh

I though having seen some of the wonderful Christmas light image being added of late that I would put my own twist on it with one of my lens

matt... i love the mono stream shot.

...as for the bokeh ... it is glorious :thumbs:

Thanks Kev, that stream is in my village  and you cannot be considered a true village kid until you've been into it :naughty: when I was 6 or 7 I rode my bike down it :D I've also crawled under the bridge :D

I'm pleased you like them both :D

I like the idea and use of christmas lights, the bokeh is very nice

It worked well if I'm honest I would have preferred some different colours but I couldn't find a set, were went all white a few years ago and I couldn't find a old coloured set :bang:

Really like the B&W shot, Matt.
Looks like a really nice little village.
Not many days left (of the 2011 version at least!) :)

Day 327 - Leam me see the sun

A little bit of ND110 action to capture this evenings sunset looking over Warwickshire near the Roman road the Fosse Way, and looking down the Leam Valley near the villages of Princethorpe and Eathorpe

Hiya Matt,

OMG, this is an absolutely beautiful photo. I love the colours of the sky and the way you have picked up the remains of the Autumn leaves.

You are indeed lucky to live where you do.

Cheers

Thanks Dawn, It did work out really well for me, the sky was stunning this evening

 Warwickshire is a wonderful place to live  I'm never more than 10 miles from a great light trail  but this evening it had to be a landscape as soon as I saw the sky :D

I know you have some fantastic locations in your part of the world too

Indeed, your part of the country is beautiful, and yes I am only a few miles (2 or 3) from great light trails, especially if I venture up Pendle Hill just above Sabden and down into Pendleton. Especially at this time of the year where I can capture a beautiful sunset and light trails in one ..... which is my mission for this year :D

I need to coax my son out for more McDonald picnics over the next few weeks

Cheers

Dawn :)

Hi Matt, lovely colours in that scene, very nice.

Thanks Michael, I think that the long exposure really works a treat with this scene :D

Day 328 - :woot:  :woot:

Okay so that's the first time that my POTD has not actually had a title in the post but I'm a little bit excited with this photo

Well after 2 years of light trailing, and hundreds of exposures past I've finally managed to capture what I've always considered to be the holy grail of light trails blues and two's in a single exposures on both carriageways :D

This just had to be my photo of the day for today, I think that is possible one of the best light trails that I've ever captured

Day 330 - Season to be trailing

Okay this one isn't as spectacular as my holy grail trail from two days ago, but this one was done for a different reason, this was done to show that you don't need hundreds of vehicles to make a nice trail, this also shows a wonderful sky that is not only from a sunset but also a little light pollution, but that doesn't stop it looking great

I also rather liked that this one has a car pulling up on the hard shoulder :D

To take advantage of the sky I've opened up to about as wide as I'm happy to go with light trails my settings for this trail were

Matt... i never tire of looking at your light trails... because i like to think you're experimenting everytime... seeing how you can take it differently, combining different elements like longer/shorter exposures and aperature sizes..

keep it up... the blues and twos was a cherry on the cake..

Hi Matt, the church is a nice pic, like the sky, there is an erie feel to that church.
As always, a cracking light trail which has worked very well indeed.

Thanks Michael :D I was very pleased with the light trail  the church it a local one that I've struggled to get a nice angle on but this one I think works and had to be done with the sunset that we had

Thanks Kev, the last two light trails have been very nice :D I'm still excited about the double blue a couple of days later  it's all about tayloring the settings for the location

Day 331 - Golden Gills

I really liked the light on the gills so I thought that I would have this as my photo of the day for today
