Yeah it can be a right pain, when I first got my camera and I found out how to do it me and the Mrs had soooooo much fun doing them and spent a silly amount of time trying lol.

Day 283 - What service do you need....

I was sat in the lounge this afternoon when I noticed a large amount of smoke, going outside to find smoke billowing from one of my neighbours gardens, a quick call to 999 and then I grabbed my camera :D

Day 284 - Getting a broader perspective...

Day 285 - A prime example :D

This evening seeing the progress of my fellow TalkPhotography members in there Oktoberfest Prime Len's Challenge I thought that I would do a prime lens photo :D

283 - Nice impact on this one, great colours. I like the smoke in the background, but I'm not sure the residents do.

284 - not for me :( Nicely composed, but, just not for me,

285 - I really like the DOF, and comp'n. Any flash?

Thanks Joe, 283 is actually taken less that 100 yards from my home and I was one of the people that phoned 999  what I love about living in the countryside is that everyone will be out to see if they can help :D

I appreciate that not every photo is for everyone :D

In yesterdays image there was flash it was in TTL mode -1 EV

Day 286 - Fly me 2 the moon

Some times you have the desire to scratch an itch and the only way to do it is to get down to your first love, when I first got into photography it was because I wanted to take pictures of planes, now I don't get to the airport all that often but when I do I try and give it a good go

Here we see a Jet2 Boeing 757-200 touching down at EMA (East Midlands Airport) I always love to get up to the airport and often volunteer to drive relatives to the airport :D

If I knew anything about aeroplanes (which I don't), on first glance this looks like it's taking off, rather than touching down. The smoking tyres should have been a give-away, though :)
Maybe it's the way it's going out of the frame to the left, front facing away?
Or is this just my personal preconception? IE it's moving away from me, therefore it's leaving, therefore taking off?
Focus and exposure all look totally spot-on, though :)

(I really, really like 284 BTW, came onto this thread a little late, sos.)

Thank you  Don't worry about thinking it was taking off I can see why you could think that, it's just that I'm a complete plane nerd, I try and keep it quiet though :D

I'm please that you like 284 it's one that like really like personally

Thanks for joining me in this thread and don't worry about coming into it towards the end of the challenge, any comments and support is much appreciated

Day 287 - Time moving on

This is the church of St. Giles in Bubbenhall, Warwickshire, this church has a lot of personal meaning to me as it's where my Uncle Alan was laid to rest two years ago :( it was a real loss but times moves on...

When it's cold outside with lot's of stars you can be sure I'll be out there somewhere :D this is only just over an hour of exposures, I was planning of running my exposures for a total of 2 hours, but about 1h20m in someone drove up to near the church and because of there very bright headlights there was no point in continuing the exposure :(

287/365 by mwhcvt, on Flickr

This is comprised of 117 exposures

30 Second Exposure @ f/4 ISO800

Day 288 - Trouble fitting in :D

This is a photo montage taken yesterday, this was a situation when 17mm just wasn't wide enough to get the image that I wanted so I took multiple images, 14 to be precises these have then been merged together to create this image, it's been give a little bit of tone mapping as the dynamic range was rather extreme

This featured church is St. Thomas' in Keresley, Coventry

Well this morning I was out with a couple of other TPer's to do little bit of light painting and star trailing :D this is a little star trail done at Wolston church I have done a couple of photo's at this church but this is the first time that I've star trailed this church

Day 290 - Abstract Art

I've had a really rubbish day photographically I set of for a day at EMA at 2pm and in Coventry it was dry with partial cloud, by the time I was at EMA it was blowing a gale and constant rain :( this is actually a photo I took using Darrell's (Thedodo) camera, I was trying to get a artistic/abstract image using the street lights of Derby

290/365 by mwhcvt, on Flickr

All loking fantastic matt, great effort on 288!

Thanks, I really like the composition of 288 it was hard to get that angle and there was no way I could have got it all in at 17mm which is my widest focal length currently ;)

10-20mm in bound

290 - an interesting image, I like the colours.

Lucky you, I'm hoping to have a 10-20 within the next few months :D I really struggled for my POTD yesterday as I was expecting to get something from EMA but the weather ruined that plan :bang:

I wish mate, I was joking that you're getting one. Looks like I am spot on

Damn Weather. Do you have waterproof gear for your 450?

 I have it on my lens to get list ;) I don't have the 450 waterproof gear, that maybe a future investment

Perfectly crisp. Nice capture. Nice and straight too!

Thanks mate, it's a really simple image but I like it  I had to give myself 5 minutes to get a photo :naughty:

Matt

Day 292 - Not just a church, this is a...

...well no it's not a M&S Church :D but it is St. Michael's Church in Western under Wetherley but I wanted with this to give it a real HDR kick in the backside just to see how far I could push it :D this is a triple exposure HDR, I din't have my tripod as it's in the car still which I dropped at the garage this morning :bang:

Quality sky there mate, nice light from the sun too. I feel it's a bit square on though ?

Thanks, it was impossible to get a better angle  and I have to agree far too straight on :(

Day 293 - Dialing some support

Some times on a 365 challenge you need a little support so this evening I got on the phone to get a little support, I had only one number that I needed to call

Day 294 - Fruity Fun :D

So this evening for my POTD I've dabbled with a little bit of light painting, this was done in a darkened room so as not external light sources would mess with my image

294/365 by mwhcvt, on Flickr

Done with some black mount card, A small torch and a apple :D

Very clever, I see what you dd there

Nice idea.

Thanks Joe, I was just having a little fun with PP :D

Day 295 - Bursting through

There are some imperfections in this but overall I'm quite pleased with my first effort at a HDR sunburst :D this is a genuine HDR made from seven individual exposures

Apple is great, what light source did you use?

Thanks Joe, it was a small mag light
