nice effect on the church.... enjoying the filter?? I like the detail on the macro shot too - very good!

Thanks, I'm loving the filter  I'm looking forward to have my next play with it :D

I'm pleased with the macro even if it was a bit of a last minute idea ;)

That latest image just made me want to shout "I've got a nice shiny tuppence" (Weeble and Bob for anyone looking flummoxed -Youtube Link - Possibly a little NSFW (but it's on Youtube so it can't be too bad)).

#268 is very cute indeed - what lens did you shoot that with, the texture of the fur is great (I love a good texture, me)!

Oh and PLEASE don't post any more ND10 shots, my resolve not to buy one is already weak!! (top shot btw ;))

I like it mate, nice idea, what filter?

Thanks, and as to the filter it's a B&W ND110 that I used for Day 267 :D that I brought from the classifieds :D

Very funny  :naughty:

I used my EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 for that photo, it's just the cutest little thing I saw all day :D

I would suggest not looking at this thread later tonight then as I have every intention to pop down to my village church and give it another go :D It's a wonderful filter but I only brought it because it was on for an amazing price in the classified that I just couldn't pass up

Day 270 - All about learning :D

Firstly apologies to Paul (mrdaviesuk) or your wallet :naughty: sorry if this only makes you want to have a ND110 even more but alas I need to get used to it so it will feature in quite a few 365 in the coming couple of weeks

I had a desire to go out this evening to get some more use out of my newly acquired ND110 I would have liked a bit more colour in the sky and a few more clouds to add to the movement.

:thankyou: I absolutely love this filter it's just stunning what it allows you to achieve  I think it will be interesting at the end of the year to ask people to pick there top 5 or 10 from the year as I'd love to know what others think are my best :D

That's a really good idea - I think the difference between what the tog and the "audience" think are the best might be an eye opener.

Oh and btw - <shakesfist> lovely long exp </shakesfist>! :)

I'm already looking forward to see what others think are my be  I know there are some that I have an emotional attachment too but weather they will be seen as top shots who knows

I'm glad you like yesterdays POTD

So let me get this right, if you were there with no filter, at f/13, the right exposire would be 0.18 seconds?

You have that right  though the camera actually had it at a 1/20th of a second so I guess technically my photo is about 20 seconds under exposed  :bang:

That's interesting Matt, the conversion chart I have shows 1/20th equates to 60 seconds, whereas 1/5th equates to 3m 20s.

The church shot is nice Matt. I like it. I do fancy getting one of these but might have to go down the welding glass route first.

Welding glass is pretty good, but all it does is make you want a proper one even more ... although it does put off the inevitable purchase a little! ;)

I know a couple of guys that use the welding glass and it can be really effective

I think you may be right I will have to check the control photo to see exactly what settings the camera would have suggested in Av mode, but from my short experience I've found that if you stick to you chart the photo comes in under exposed :bang: I've found myself going well over the guided exposure time :D

I was going to go down the welding glass route myself, but then one came up in a classifieds at such a reasonable price I just had to buy it ;)

Day 271 - Too be a fly on the wall

I think that we can all think of situations where we would like to be the fly on the wall, I know that I can :naughty: but today I have to settle for watching and trying to take a photo of the fly on the wall, I wonder what it was think with me inches away from it

very nice fly Matt! Posted it at the right time, I have had a fly that wouldn't budge off my screen, untill this came up!

Glad to be of service mate :D

very nice matt, my old 100mm f2.8L would have come in handy there but sadly i no longer have it :(

Yeah I saw that you had parted company with that lens  trust me when I say if I could have afforded to take it off your hands I would have been first in line :D

Matt

Fantastic shot Matt - all the more impressive for the kit being used!!

:thankyou: Not bad for a lens that cost me £65 and set of borrowed tubes that cost under £10  I thought that for the sake of your wallet I should avoid a ND110 photo today :naughty: but I make not promised for tomorrow :exit:

Matt

You are all heart!! :D

Really glad I bought a set of manual tubes (thanks for giving me the nudge) - I've got so many new avenues to explore (and keep my 365 varied).

I've been off playing with my el-cheapo IR filter today to console myself. I was going to break out the welding glass, but alas there wasn't a cloud in the sky!

Day 272 - September Sunshine

I just like this scene that greeted me on my morning walk :D I like the idea of a minimal landscape post harvest, with the minimal sky just using the sun to create a nice feature in the sky and a bit of flare

What a wonderful September morning

I like the simplicity Matt - maybe needs a slight straightening?

Believe it or not but I've actually rotated it away from being straight to make it look straighter, as this is looking up a shallow valley the key if you look at the largest tree on the left  I like it I was attracted to it by the simplistic/minimalistic look :D

I was going to edit my original post to say "unless you've already tried and have done it on purpose". :)

Pesky landscapes with their wavy lines!! ;)

liking the golden hour Matt... though i finally got round to it at the TP52 meet last weekend... image not posted as busy week... BUT i have used a wildcard for my 52 (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=3900035&postcount=415) where i got down and dirty with the traffic... i think when larger vehicles travel past you, their lights bring out interesting differences... i missed the double decker that shot passed while i set up.... was my first time so no flamin' please.
