MWHCVT(Matt's) Challenge 365 - Completed

That's brilliant mate!!

I would have preferred the background to be pitch black on them all but it takes nothing away from the idea.

Excellent Matt, I like it a lot, a very good attempt indeed, the background appears a lot better in the 3rd picture. Looks better viewed big on flickr

Thanks guy's thought I've just realised I've made a mistake :bang: that when I was creating the montarge I've used a experimental third image, I had a go in photoshop as darkening the black but I wasn't overly happy with the finished tile and then I've gone an used that in the montarge :bang: I'm gland that you liked it though

Day 265 - Make a Splash

I decided that I wanted to try and improve my take on yesterdays photo, but I didn't want to shoot the exact same thing again, so today still with a strawberry but this time with water and a white background :D

An before anyone ask yeah it did make one almighty mess of the kitchen counter  :naughty: :exit:

Nice pic Matt, nice action in the water. Making a mess is worth it!

Thanks, Yeah it was worth it and always is :naughty: though I know have both of my back drop's/grounds drying out, I think I need to buy a couple more :D good job there cheap and have lasted me nearly 12 months

Matt

Good catch Matt; real good timing and nice colours! Was flash used?

Are all of your pics taken with the 450D?

Yeah I used my 430EX2 flash gun power was set to 1/8th power if I remember correctly  that's bad that I need to check when I only took the photo 30 minutes ago, anyway the flash was about 3 foot directly above the camera faced towards the background to blow it out a little

Yeah all my photo's have been taken with my 450D it's amazing what can be achieved :D

Nice Matt, nicely caught, sharp in the right places

Minor, think I would have cloned out the strawberry juice on the right of the glass

Have you tried sparkling water to add to the mix

Thanks Dave

That's annoying :bang: you know how clone happy I am and I didn't even notice that, it must have been from my first attempt when I messed up my drop and hit the side of the glass :bang: as the glass was spotless when I started, I made sure of it

I will have to give sparking water a go  I'll have to buy some more strawberry's though as I've eaten them know  a maybe a different fruit :D

Hiya Matt,

I have just made myself a brew and decided to sit and do a catch up on your thread since my last post. I have tried to pop in, as usual to have a quick peek at your daily shots, but unfortunately the past few weeks have been a bit topsy turvy for me so I have missed some .... which I will admire now.

Day 250: Wow the detail on this shot is great, even down to the single thread. I know how tricky it can be to capture a shot of these little fellas, having attempted a few myself over the past few days. So well done to you on this one.

Day 251: Hmmmmm, Pepperonis Pizza .... yummie ... now where is that Pizza Time menu ... time for a delivery :D Very tempting shot.

Day 252: Have to agree better viewed on the larger version. A fab coin and well done on the focus and lighting. Great background too.

Day 253: Nice shot of a bracket fungus, with a lovely DOF to emphasise same.

Day 254: Wow that is a stunning shot, with lovely colours. Great subject and composition. Like how you have the few headstones in the shot to the left ... adds to the whole idea of light at the end of the tunnel. Well done on the thought process for this one.

Day 255: I think a nice close up of the inside of this flower would look good. It's a pity the flowers seem to have suffered from the last cold winter. I took some photos of these flowers recently, my dad bought me a lovely bouquet of them to cheer me up, so I decided to take a few shots before they faded. They are actually lovely flowers to photograph.

Day 256: Well done on the first studio attempt and I look forward to seeing more of this sort of work from you in the future.

Day 257: Wow ... you definitely have mastered the art of light trails and star trails. This is a stunning photo and well done! Hopefully I will be able to get some good star trails this weekend (if the sky is clear enough).

Day 258: I'm not a beer/larger drinker myself, but this looks like a thirst quenching product shot.

Day 259: Wow what a stunning photo! Love the colour and whispy sky and the silhouette trees on either side create an almost tunnel-like effect. I am drawn into this photo, and even though you say you wished there had been more traffic, I think that in this case less is more and there is just the right amount of light trail to lead ones eyes through the shot. Well done!

Day 260: Green being one of my fav colours .... and the abstractness of the image makes this one of my favs. My only tiny little nit-pick here is that the slight bit of red on the left of the frame is slightly distracting for me. Otherwise well done!

Day 261: Absolutely breathtaking!

Day 262: Ooops, I missed this challenge :bang: My guess would be something along the lines of one of those things you put in the florescent lights, not sure what they are called .... but I would guess a starter

Day 263: Another lovely, bright, colourful and vibrant shot. Almost reminds me of Blackpool rock

Day 264: Great idea, one which I will have to try some time. The background in the 3rd shot looks a tad darker. But a nice triptych ... well done.

Day 265: Another great attempt with the strawberries. There is a red mark on the glass that is a tad distracting .... and a greyish mark on the background, lower right. Perhaps try same with some pink champers some time ;)

Wow, I have caught up .... and must say I have really enjoyed looking through the photos. Well done ... you are doing a fantastic job with this project, keep up the brilliant work.

Now to make another brew ..... that was thirsty work :D

Take care

Cheers

Dawn :)

The pizza was from Papa Johns and was good, I would hate to claim to be a master of anything photographically related but I think I'm getting good at the night time long exposures :D

Sorry I missed your post I think we mush have cross posted  but I'm pleased you've posted as it's given me a few development ideas :D

Day 266 - Special to me

Well today had to be a photo that is special to me, anyone that follows my work will know that I have a particular passion for light trails so this evening I decided to go out and capture a few trails and this is the one that I selected for my photo of the day :D

It would be a bit of both  but it a lift were needed that wouldn't be a problem as your not that far from the airport  but I think it maybe when your away :bang: I'll need to check my mums flight details

Great shot Matt, i like the bit of sky and the amber flashing lights.
Hope you had a good birthday.

If you're off to ema, I wouldn't mind tagging along :D

Your more than welcome  I'll let you know the next time that I'm heading up there :D be warned though when I go I go for a number of hours :D I've been known to be there in excess of 6 hours :cuckoo:

Day 267 - Something's not right

As someone that had completed thousands of 30+ second exposures you would think that doing a long exposures would come naturally to me but today I did something that I have never really done :D a 330 second exposure well the sun was still above the horizon :D

Thanks Les :D I love it myself I was just being a little ironic with the title i.e. Really long exposure in broad daylight some thing must be wrong :naughty:

 Huge congratulations for keeping this going Matt.
I know how much of a struggle a 52 can be at times, so I can't imagine what it must take to keep a 365 going.

Some real stunners in there and far too many to comment on, but the stained glass church windows and Kenilworth Castle star trail are up there with my favourites.

I have to comment on day 263's glass with the stripey background though. Absolutely stunning. Well lit, well exposed and perfectly sharp. I love this one.

Day 268 - Cuteness Factor dialed up to the max

Taken at today's TP meet as West Midlands Safari Park, this has to be one of if not the cutest photo I've taken :D

Thanks Sarah, it is real hard work to keep it going some times you feel like :bang: other times just plain :cuckoo: but overall it's more than worth the effort, I've learnt so much already this year about lighting etc, and I think that photographically I've come on leaps and bounds :D at least I think and hope I have...

Kenilworth had to be one of my proudest photography moments ever especially to end up with my first ever explore on flickr :D

The glass was one that I was pleased with myself if I'm honest, a really simple image but it worked well :D

Hi Matt, cracking pic with the nd filter, love the movement in the clouds. The Deer is just so cute, and a very nice photograph it is too.

I know it just makes even the heart of me a big hairy neanderthal melt :D I'm really falling in love with the ND110 its a truly amazing piece of glass :D

The light trails look great. I need to get out and do some once I have my new tripod!

Love the 330 sec exposure shot matt, I was expecting to see some water with that filter, but it's nice to see something different :)

Cute animal shot, great DOF

Thanks, I know that water would be the expected image with that filter but I think for a first attempt it's not a bad effort :)

The thuan was a real cutie and was there in the same position for hours
