Day 249 - Macro Madness

I was hoping to find a nice bug in the flowers this evening but I couldn't find a single one :dummy: so I'll have to settle for a nice flower macro this is best viewed LARGE Link to full size :D

I'm trying to work out if I'm mad or not but I think I'm going to be doing this all over again next year, I'm already planning a spectacular photo for the end of the year :thumbs: but that's staying under covers till then stamped TOP SECRET

It was shot pretty much like that :thumbs: it has been cropped a little to get the exact composition I wanted but not very much :thumbs:

The only PP is a small crop, slight darken then a small amount of sharpening all in all about 60 seconds of editing :D

Great effort mate, maybe something to lift the shadow around the bottom - but it's a lovely sharp capture.

Which extension tubes are you using and what was mounted at the sharp end?

Quite fancy trying out some extension tubes, but none of my lenses have aperture control - so I wasn't quite sure how (if at all) that would work with manual tubes?

Thanks, I forgot the lens in the original description :bang:

It was with my 50mm f/1.8 you don't need aperture control on the lens as I learnt from one of my flickr contacts, if you select that aperture that you want then hold down the DoF preview button and keep it held down while you take the lens off this locks the aperture until you put the lens back on the camera :thumbs:

I say get some tubes this set was only £8 :thumbs:

Day 251 - Passionate about Pizza...

Not the most imaginative photo I know but I had to have this as my photo of the day as it was a rare treat :D my favourite pizza and this is the first slice leaving the box :D

Eating this actually reminds me of when I used to work in the lost card centre a few years ago and pizza from the shop where this came from used to be our pay day treat :thumbs:

For those that may be as mad about good Pizza as I am, its a Papa John's, Double Pepperoni on Traditional Thin Crust :D

Now please stick with me here...say the title in a broad Scottish (Glasgow to be precise) accent and then hopefully you will have it :thumbs: so this is my photo of the day, yeah it's actually two photo's as I wanted to show both sides but such is life :D

Day 253 - He's a Fungi

So yesterday along with fellow TPer Darrell (Thedodo) I went for a fungi forage, in my local woods and this bracket fungi is a rather nice example that we found :D, there is still not a massive amount of fungi around, I think that it has just been too dry still :(

I used flash and a white reflector to get light into the shadow area's
