MWHCVT(Matt's) Challenge 365 - Completed

Very nice matt, I like the motion in the bouquet but not keen on part of the sky as it looks a little blown.

Thanks mate, actually I know what you mean about the sky having a blown look to it  unfortunately when detailing with distant white cloud there is not a lot that I could do, it was white, and lacking details so it looks blown :'(

I also hate having to write that because it sounds terribly like an excuse and it's not :naughty:

I to like the motion blur and that's exactly what I was going for

Well caught Matt, I dont see the ladies running to catch it LOL, were you the official tog on their special day?

Thanks Dave, they weren't too keen on running, but this was the brides second attempt  the first attempt the bouquet landed only a couple feet behind the bride :bang: so I think they were waiting to see the trajectory

Yes I was the official tog for the day, I do a few just to keep the bank manager happy and to allow me to buy new toys, I am 100% professional when I do it i.e. Insurance, tax and back up  but seeing the way the threads on weddings often degenerate I tend not to advertise the fact on TP too much, I know I'm not the best but when I look at the standard of some that charge a lot more than I do I don't think I'm too bad :exit:

I may post a few more at some point, there are a few teaser images that I've put on my new Facebook page if your really board and want to see more  see my signature

Ha ha Matt, not a good thrower then,

I didnt know you did the occasional wedding, Aye best not post on the wedding forum, asbestos jacket comes in useful on there :naughty:

  yeah some of the wedding guys are very protectionist  but they tend not to venture much out of that section so I should be safe in here :D :tumbleweed:

I might grab the asbestos jacket at some point in the future ;) I have to be brave or drunk when I do

TBH she was a real good thrower just not sure how much power she needed  before the throw we joked about going very long to see if we could get anyone to jump into the late :naughty:

Cognrats on the great pics and please keep it up.

Joe

Thanks Joe, and best of luck with your 52 a challenge be it 52 or 365 is hard work and a big commitment, but I've found it great for pushing me to try new things

I'm very pleased that you have enjoyed my photo's so far and you've been impressed at the standard, I will as ever ensure that I keep up the standard that you have seen thus far

Day 234 - Taking it easy

It has been such a busy weekend that for this evening I decided to just make like easy for myself, and this is a result I wonderful almost completely white Dahlia from in my garden...

The only processing on this is a small crop, a small boost to the saturation levels and the a bit of vignette

Hiya Matt, liking the church photograph, great exposure. The wedding photograph is excellent, I like it a lot and I think the black and white conversion suits it really well. Once again, I would like to say well done for doing so well indeed with this 365 project.

Thanks Michael, I don't think I could continue with a 365 without the support that I have received from TP and Flickr  it is hard work but I am really enjoying it

I am so pleased with the wedding photo, I don't think that one could have worked out any better :D

The church is good, the sky could have had more interest but for a first attempt at that kind I thing I don't think it went to badly

Day 236 - White Diamonds

After the rain had stopped I went out to get a photo, I found these little white flowers in the garden with little glistening drops of rain on them, looking like little shining diamonds on the petals of the flowers :D

Hiya Matt,

Wow it seems like just the other day I was commenting on your thread and I can't believe how time has flown past .... so here I am doing a catch up:

216: Love the colour and detail of the flower and how kind of the hover fly to pop past for the shot :D

217: Your light trails always impress me ... and this is still something I have to try ... which is something on my to do list now that the nights are drawing in.

218: Yummy, now I wish I hadn't seen this as I could just scoff a piece of delish cake now.

219: Great macro shot of a Hawthorn berry ... I have a photo somewhere in my collection of these, but not as sharp as this one .... well done!

220: Love the first attempt at this steel wool thing, something else I still have to try at some point.

221: Good capture of the flower, although the flower itself doesn't appeal to me. Do you think we might still see more lightning this year? We don't seem to get much in this country. In South Africa we had to most amazing electric storms.

222: Ah yes ... I remember taking a guess at this one.

223: What a fantastic idea and love the composition and colours. Now this photo would be my son's fav as he loves tomato soup.

224: Now this I like ... it is the way I try to capture flowers. Normally I set camera to 1/200, F11, ISO 200 (depending on lighting) and -2 flash compensation.

225: Looks like you had a fun day ... and not a back shot of the duck for full manual.

226: Now that is a different perspective and I love the colours and detail you have captured.

227: Great shot of the moon .... a subject I enjoy photographing too ... when we get the clear skies ooop norf.

228: Another fantastic light trail .... I will have to follow you tutorial which I have subscribed to.

229: I don't actually mind the central composition and I like the way you have framed the subject with the wall and trees and the colour is warm. HDR processing is something I have tried a few times recently, but still trying to get my head round it.

230: Now this one has to be my favourite. I love abstract art and I think you have done a fantastic job with this. What was the subject that you photographed? And btw I don't care if people don't think this is photography .... I do! After all without the photograph you wouldn't have the image. So well done on being creative. This is the type of processing I like to do with photos ... as you may have already gathered :D

231: Another lovely photo ... and well titled too. Looks like the hover from 216 has brought a friend along

232: Great shot of the bride throwing the bouquet. It's a pity that the sky wasn't more in your favour, but still a lovely shot.

233: Not sure about the focus on this one ... or perhaps it is more to do with the contrast. So go on .... what does the title relate to? I was thinking it had something to do with the fact that the photo looks slightly off alignment, but there is nothing you could do about that

234: Indeed the men in white coats will be coming for you ... as they are for a number of us doing personal projects  Quite appropriate that you should say that when you have taken a photo of a white flower :D

235: Should the title not read 'In need of Restoration'? Indeed the flower looks past it's best ... but a great shot ... especially as I have found yellow to be a tricky colour to photograph so well done.

236: Beautiful photo and the little rain drops add to the pic.

You are doing a fantastic job with your 365, keep up the brilliant work.

Well done

Cheers

Dawn :)

Thanks Dawn, your are always so detailed in you're reviews it's brilliant  I always look forward to your comments :D

Moving marge comes from the movement in the sky thanks to the long exposure and the name of the church :D

230 was a nice purple flower

I love the photo from the wedding and I know the bride is happy with what she has seen so far so that's the main thing  I love shooting weddings it's such fun plus I thrive of the pressure :naughty:

Thanks for your on going support Dawn

i shot a wedding once.... that was in 1956 .. the bride is still deciding on what size, which photos and insisting that the unPP'd shots i gave her, WERE PP'd .... i serious..i give up.... she's asked for all 250+ photos to be PP'd???? then in 6 x 4 ... then talked of canvas.... told her to go camping then...

always loving your shots Matt...even if they are of a flower with nice DOF

Day 236 - White Diamonds

Nice composition, maybe it's my work monitor, but are the whites slightly over exposed?

I like the DOF too, what lens are you using?

The whites are a touch OE on the edges but it wasn't so bad as to put me off the photo  and I'm really pleased with the DoF it works well

The lens is my 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS some don't like this lens but I love it :D

It most probably is my work monifailtor. It's a great shot, the rain drops add to it nicely. Is that the canon lens? It seems to do the job very nicely.

Yeah it's a canon lens it's brilliant and I love it, there are issues such as it does suffer from chromatic abbreviation at the edges but it's not too bad

I very large proportion of my photo's are taken with this lens

Hiya Matt,

Nice one .... so it is not just butterflies that like these plants :D

Did you add vignette in post processing? Only minor crit would bee  .... what is the semi-circular thing lower left quad? ... it is slightly distracting.

Cheers

Dawn :)

P.S. ..... don't tell me it is duttytd with a shopping trolley

Yes the vignette was a PP addition :) it was an attempt to hide the semi-circular thing that was my finger holding the flower in a nice position I couldn't totally crop it out so I tried to hide it :shake: not well enough clearly ;)

Day 238 - Really thinking of Ireland

This flower features as a macro subject earlier in my 365, but today was a time for a wider perspective  with all the rain today it really did feel like Ireland :)

Day 241 - An odd one out!!

I have said in the past about my love of coinage, so I'm one of those odd people that likes to get the those interesting coins in my change, so the other evening this little coin came as a nice surprise, I wonder how it ended up in the UK and what hands it has been through before getting into mine :D

Day 242 - Ring it out Loud :D

Tuesdays are bell ringing practice so though out my time at the church this evening I had a wonderful cacophony of campanology to go along with my photography :D

A 75 second exposure of my local church, All Saint's of Stretton-on-Dunsmore, Warwickshire. I think that this is a wonderful church with interesting features...I have levelled this image against the tower and specifically the flag pole...
