MWHCVT(Matt's) Challenge 365 - Completed

Day 127 - Unlucky for some.

This may be unlucky for some but for me it was a great piece of luck as until I had seen this horse shoe I was really struggling for inspiration for Day 127, but I really liked the colours of the wall and the shoe, add to this the unconventional hanging and here is the photo that you get, This is posted a little be later than I would have like but have had a really busy weekend and have only just had time to sit in front of the computer, (3:40am Monday morning)

Now all I have to do is sort through and edit all the images from a great TP Brandon Marsh Meet for my Day 128 but my bed is calling so will do that later today and then go on the hunt for Day 129 then I will be back to my normal speed

Hi Matt, what a nice dog. I have the name of your plant for you, Celosia! I saw them in Morissons today.

Thanks, She ain't a bad dog at all but I am pleased that she is my cousins and not mine as not sure I could cope with her 24/7 as she is totally bonkers, I will get the details sorted and add a flickr description

Day 128 - From the hide...

This is the view from the Carlton hide at Brandon Marsh taken on the TP Meet at Brandon marsh, it was a really great day and I had a lot of fun, I am now slowly working through nearly 4GB in photos, so look out for a thread soon ;)

I just need to process today's shot and then I will be all up to date again.

Day 129 - Thanks Mum

Thanks mum, I do like my mum's cakes and this would be my favourite, lemon sponge cake

Like the horseshoe pic, nice warm colours.

Thanks Michael, I was very pleased with the way that it came out, I liked the colours and tones when I first noticed it on the wall and instantly knew it was going to me my photo of the day ;)

 Fully up to date now ;)

Day 130 - Springing to life

130/365 by mwhcvt, on Flickr

I was doing some work in the back garden when I spotted this earlier today and I thought, great.. So this is my photo of the day. I focused on the centre flower and used a large aperture of f/2.8 to give a nice shallow DoF, in processing I have given it a light boost in saturation and then a nice vignette to concentration focus on the subject.

Day 131 - Daisy Day

Any day can be a daisy day, but sitting here typing this post I cannot help but remember a night club that was in my village, Crazy Daisies, apparently named after the owners daughter, P.S. the club closed in when I was in my early teens so no I never frequented the club :D

Hiya Matt,

Just popping past for a quick catch up on your 365.

Your flower photos are lovely and now is a great time to fill some of your 365 with the beauty of spring and summer.

Day 128 is a bit on the small side, but then when I clicked on it to view in Flickr, I realise you have been a naughty boy :rules: :bat:

You are doing a fantastic job of your project and I try to pop past as often as I can. Sometimes I pop in just for a quick peek at the latest, but don't always have the time to comment. So hope you don't mind that I leave an update from time to time.

Keep up the good work

Cheers

Dawn :)

Thanks for taking the time to have a look and commenting, I really appreciate your comments as always, 128 was from the TP meet at Brandon marsh, it was great fun, I really enjoyed myself and I a really getting into these panoramas as it is the latest thing I have learned how to do in Photoshop

I hope you checked out the 15000 wide version it's amazing the details ;) but had to save it at 98% quality to get it under the flickr file limits as 100% it was 32mb and that was with normal large jpegs not converted raws :D

Drop me a PM when you have more 365 images up for me to enjoy :)

Day 132 - Mystery Walk

I shot this with the aperture stopped down to keep the tunnel of vegetation dark and then a burst of flash to light the entrance and the stile, with the concept of mystery, what lies in wait over the stile???

Hi Matt, I missed day 128 somehow, must have been typing slow. Clicked on the flickr link, very impressive indeed. Liking the flower shots as well.

Thanks, I'm really pleased with day 128 I have enjoyed just looking round it, I have spotted a couple walking along a path about half a mile away in the tree line ;)

Hi Matt, just had a look on google for the church, certainly looks a nice place.

It is fantastic, I have spent hours taking photos there and I still have a few plans for different photos there, and I go past there every weekend so get lots of opportunity

Day 136 - Destruction

Taken from a single RAW, This is the remains of building at Stretton on Dunsmore that has existed as The Dun Cow Public House, Crazy Daisy's Night Club and a Chinese Restaurant, it has been empty for a number of years so with this who knows what the future holds for this site

Liking destruction Matt, great atmosphere in that shot. Nice mallard too.

Thanks, I only wish I had been a little bit delayed going past there the previous afternoon as I would have been able to get some shots of the actual fire :bang:

Liked the Daisy .. Been seeing them around here.. might try to capture one on digital this weekend.

Crazy Daisies. Think I might have been there once. Suspected arson attack?

Mallard is neat! nice and crisp focus

He was a right poser that mallard, I believe that it is suspect with daisies being arson, as by all accounts it when up very quickly, i.e. Within 10 minutes.

Get out there getting the daisy's they look great at the moment, I am just waiting for the rain to stop so I can go and take today's photo

Day 138 - Hiding in the hedges...

Well it stopped raining while I was out, and typically while I was out (without camera) :bang: I am driving along to see a buzzard sat on a fence less than 5 metres from me and was pefectly happy to set there while I watched him, could have been a great picture of the day

What I think is a wild rose growing in our beech hedge at the side of the house, if anyone has a definitive I.D. please let me know

Day 139 - Whoopsie!!! :bang:

Don't you just hate it when you make a mistake, while a least I got a photo of the day out of this one, thankfully it was a clear card, truthfully I am not entirely sure how I managed to split the casing all I did was try and take it out of the protective case to put it in the camera and it split open...whoops

139/365 by mwhcvt, on Flickr

Quite interesting to see the inner workings of the card thought

Day 140 - A Bug's Life

Seen outside the front door at about 6.30 this morning, I was going out quickly so didn't have my camera or time to run in and get it as I was heading out to give mum a hand for half and hour so I kicked myself at missing this photo opportunity...but when I arrived home after 30 minutes there it was still there :D

Day 143 - Less of a man...

This evening I am less of a man than I was this morning.

I think as an artist sometimes one must suffer for your art, seriously I have been suffering for the last two weeks though because of this so hopefully this will be the end of it.

Apologies to anyone if this has made you feel a little green around the gills.

Well after the reaction to my photo of the day yesterday I thought that I should move back to something just a little bit more conventional/less gory

Day 145 - Evolution??

So my idea with this shot was evolution, thought in this case it was to go from grey to colour, with the transition being made up of two different saturation levels.

Day 147 - Golden Fire

Well its a golden dragon/phoenix and it is about 5ft tall, but I thought that it would make an interesting subject, used 430EXII aimed above the subject on -1/3 exposure power.

Hi Matt, I think the hdr on the old tractors works well indeed. I bet you'r feeling better without that tooth! Well done on keeping this 365 going.

Thanks Michael, I'm really pleased with the tractors, it's the exact effect I had planned for the photo when I shot it, I feel loads better not having that tooth in my mouth :D

I am not going to lie, a 365 can be a real burden, but so far I am really enjoying it and as mad as this sounds it may become a 731 but I will make a decision on that later in the year :)

Day 149 - Please sign in

Taken at my favourite location, just to show how much interest there is even though this church as been closed to regular service for many years now...it shows that there are visitors to this church from all across the world
