MWHCVT(Matt's) Challenge 365 - Completed

Day 50 - Kick it

50/365 by mwhcvt, on Flickr

I have selected this as my image of the day because this is I think the best kicking shot that I have managed to capture so far in my photography at Rugby Union matches.

Day 51 - Beggar's cannot be choosers

Taken at Saint Giles's Church in the Warwickshire village of Bubbenhall, there has been a church on this site from at least 1153.

Day 52 - The Cookie Crumbles, well not always.

I figured that it has been a few days (well 3) ;) since I have done a macro/close up shot so thought that was what I would do one for today's shot.

Thanks, I was really quite pleased with today's I think I managed to light it quite well and the little boost to saturation really brought it out.

I was hoping that someone would have noticed my little bit of fun with Day 51

Just wondering what to do for today's image.....

Hiya Matt,

Wow you never let us down with your great ideas for your 365 and I try to pop past as often as I can to see what you are posting. Don't always have the chance to comment, but think you are doing great.

BTW had a bit of a chuckle at the title of your day 51, although I probably shouldn't. That is one pretty old church.

Oh yes and I think it is way past a midnight snack for me, time to put the kettle on and raid the cookie jar :D

Keep up the good work.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Dawn, I am just pleased that someone understood the humour that is in the title. I actually did not go to the church with the intension to take a picture and left the camera in the car at first, it is the church that my uncle is buried at so really just called in because of that...

Real pity about the spectators/fence in 43 :( great shot but that ruins it a bit for me. LOVE the idea of the snooker shot :D may have to copy/steal that idea some time!

Thanks, I understand what you mean that's the nature of the game sometimes unfortunately, the snooker/pool one is really great even if I say so myself I was ecstatic seeing it on camera and even more why I edited it

Day 54 - 1st Place

This is one of the winners medals/medallions that my grandad won over many years in his fishing carrier, I decided to use this for my picture of the day and have used a selection of fishing fly's to frame the medal.

My grandad was W H Lane (Billy Lane)

Hi Matt, Billy wouldn't be the Billy from W H Lanes in London Road would it? I used to get all my tackle from there. I spent a fortune over the years.
Small world eh?

Love the Andy Warhol shot too, your 365 is going great guns.

Hiya Matt,

Wow! Absolutely love your 55/365, beautiful colours and great DOF.

The Croucus round here are only just popping through and haven't bloomed yet, so waiting patiently for them to appear.

Have a few snowdrops around at the mo, which reminds me I need to pop up to my uncles house to take some photos of the snowdrops before they fade.

Have also seen a few daffodils starting to sprout, so need to remember to take my camera with me every day from now on.

I have been so busy lately and not had time to process my 365 photos, think that will be my task for tonight. Fortunately I have taken today's pic for the 365 .... so I need to get cracking getting up to date with my project before the next 52 is announced

Well done to you for mainting your 365 and always coming up with some very interesting photos. You are a great inspiration, and just when I think I can't be bothered, I always think ...'what would Matt think' so thanks, even though you don't know, but you always give me that little tap on the shoulder to get my A into gear :D

Cheers

Hi Matt,

I really like Day 52 - so clear and makes my stomach rumble as soon as I look at it!!

Also really like the colours on Day 53 - they're so vivid, really good work!

Thanks Will, I'm pleased that you are liking my efforts, you should check out the 3000px version of 52 on my stream now that it a sight, but at that size I'm not sure I could manage a hole one would need a big cuppa to dunk it with ;)

Have added you on flickr

Day 58 - Who Broke???

I decided to have a play about with and idea from Day 44, but today I decided to add an element of one of my favourite techniques as it confuses people when they see it...

Day 60 - Changing times...

60/365 by mwhcvt, on Flickr

Okay, I suppose a bit of an explanation is required with this one, so I was sat thinking about what to have as my picture of the day and is struck me the developments that there have been in photography in the last 10 years my first digital camera was a Kodak DC215ZOOM if I remember correctly and came with a 4MB Compact Flash card, Just think that would not even fit one photo from my 450D yet the card in the photo will take 700 large Jpeg shots how times change, then my thoughts drifted to my first film camera and so the idea for the photo formed, Old and New, how times have changed...

Day 62 - Hooked, on Photography.

I'll Confess, I have not been feeling very well today, actually been sick as a dog but I will not go into that, So for today I thought that I would have a go at a macro shot but was struggling to find a suitable subject, here's the shot of the day, will go out the house weather permitting tomorrow.

Day 64 - Trying hard...

The only try that I managed to capture today, only did the first half of the match as the light got progressively worse and then the rain started...

Hi Matt,

Day 60 is good - shows how fast technology has moved on very clearly! Good shot too, DoF is perfect.

Day 61 is brilliant, and the title! :) Love the shallow DoF.

Really like Day 65! The sharpness is amazing and so are the colours - did you take two exposures, one of the sky and one of the building then merge them together? Looks fantastic! The trees on either side looks good against the sky too.

Good work

Will :D.

Thanks, will I have just got in from a night out looking at potential locations and after about 90 miles I have today's shot and left it processing on the back seat so will upload shortly.

Day 65 is a single exposure I shot in raw with the idea of doing a hdr but have only really played at hdr once before and after looking at the original I decided that the nd grad had done what I was looking for anyway

Day 66 - Time speeds on by...

I have never done a stacked star trail before so this evening when I saw that the sky was clear of clouds I knew what I was going to be doing this evening.

Day 67 - All In???

So I have had this idea in my head for a while, who is going to win, I have used a really shallow DoF with the idea of thinking that not being able to clearly identify the river card makes you wonder is the card the one to win the game.

Day 68 - Play the hand you dealt...

So I decided to stick with playing cards since I still had them knocking around after yesterdays photo.
