Motorbikes

My glove harness is taped into a motorcross armour mesh top which I wear under an Irving flying jacket. If it's cold enough to need the gloves, I'll be needing the sheepskin too!!!

That‘s crazy. I use gloves all year round. Lightweight ones for summer, warm and waterproof ones for the rest of the year.

I've been isolating for 10 days after testing positive for covid...despite not having a single symptom( I've not felt a thing)...but 10 days off the bike has killed me , I have even washed it twice...so tomorrow is freedom day and i'l be heading to snowdonia a quick couple of hundred miles should help
 
Self isolation is a PITA BUT worth it (IMO). The thought of passing the virus on is (to me) more of a worry than me catching it.

im not a stay in person, so whilst sitting in bed watching crap on the telly sounds great its gotten right on my nerves, everything i do is outdoors..reminds me of what i have to look forward to when i get my knee replaced( 2 operations both with 2 weeks isolation prior to surgery, 1st op is to take out the plates in my leg then after the swelling etc has come down actually do the replacement...then ive got the rehab following)...shoot me now...but yes i get the isolation is there to keep people safe, trust me when i say ive watched enough people die of it the past 2 years

I feel your pain. The longest I go without being on the bike is a day unless I’m overseas. During both my recent trips to Spain, I missed being on the bike.

I've just got some of the XRL long version - Oddly I am usually an XL size, but I couldn't even pull those on. I've ended up with a pair of 3XL which fit, except the thumb is about 10 mm too long, making indicating a bit fiddly. My hands are slim with long and thin fingers rather then chubby sausages. Sportsbikeshop have an excellent returns policy thankfully..
I'm off to London today to see my mum, possibly my last long ride before my shoulder op - 6 weeks in a sling, then physio, and then a foot op. Not sure why I bothered with the gloves!

My new bike was delivered to me on Tuesday, I am hoping to get out for a quick ride tomorrow and also get some better pics.
 
First ride this morning, I really wanted to avoid riding in the wet as the bike has been kept so clean, oh well I will need to give it a wipe over later. The roads were greasy and temp was fairly low, but I enjoyed a quick 20 miles just to get a feel for it. Whilst it is a big lump the weight disappears as soon as you are on the move. I can already tell I am going to enjoy this a lot...

I washed my bike twice when I was in isolation...a couple of hours in Wales yesterday and I wonder why I bothered.. its absolutely rotten...
 
Hello boys and girls, hope you are all well. I've had a rubbish time since my puncture in October and haven't ridden since :( I had terrible back spasms for three days which I'm pretty sure are related to riding, I used to commute on a bike every day but since retiring it's gone down to an outing once a week or fortnight at best, haven't done myself any favours by going out for full days riding either. This along with some crushing news regarding my health had me actively looking to sell up, never thought the day would come!

A massive thumbs down to the superbike factory in Macclesfield, they started pestering via email/text messages/phone calls and voice mail after their offer had expired and didn't stop even when I informed them I was in hospital. Pfffttt. Edit - they offered £1,500 less than anyone else as well :/

On top of that I slipped on the stairs and dislocated my little finger, it's healing well but there is no chance of getting a bike glove on for a while.

Can't even blame alcohol!

Haven't decided what to do with my bike but it's not a good time of year to sell and I'm in no rush so I'll wait and see.

These things are sent to try us eh, shiny side up folks :)

Not a good few days for you, but shiny side up - you can still stick a finger up to the superbike factory..
 
I saw a Physio yesterday who said my finger has recovered well and I can ride my bike so the snow is my fault

Time to check over my winter gear and try a short ride
 
No snow down here but it hailed (about 1/4" stones at their largest!) last night before blowing a hooley all night. I'd rather ride in snow than hail - wet ball bearings was the feeling last time I got caught out. Luckily, I could pull in under a flyover and have a fag while the hail melted.
 
Oh, and glad you're able to be back in the saddle. :D
 
i managed to drop my bike monday going over the hardnott pass in the lake district ...hit a bit of black ice at the top that was still in shade after a car in front of me stopped for a car coming uphill and down i went...bent the rear brake lever and small crack in the right side of my nose cone...to be fair even if the car never stopped in front of me i doubt id of gotten over it without dropping the bike i could just about stand up on it never mind ride a 150 bhp bike across it...it made coming down the hairpin bends on the other side interesting to say the least ...out tomorrow for a ride but il be staying off the high passes

Glad you're OK - plastic and metal are much easier to fix than flesh and bone!

Gonna ride up to Motorcycle Live next week. Really looking forward to seeing the new Tiger 1200 which is being launched next week.
I‘m going to affix the panniers just in case I’m tempted to spend money!
 
Such a shame that it's only ever been pushed around - and not much of that! There are a few bikes in a similar state in a local big stealer, put aside by the owner as investments.

Yeah, a real shame, I enjoyed the one I had many many years ago.
