Motorbikes

Had fun on its 350 older cousin - with 250 side panels and L plates. Scary but fun!!!

Yes it’s a shame it’s not being ridden but at least it looks like it’s in a museum and people can see it

Read today that they are going to stop the sales of petrol motorbikes the same as cars but from 2035 a real shame
I don’t think it’s nessersary as bikes have much lower emissions than cars and represent a small proportion of road vehicles
A bike has to have an engine an electric bike is soulless not the same

It‘s interesting isn’t it, but every review I’ve read or seen of the Livewire or Zero seems to convert even the most die-hard petrol head.

I’m probably irrational though :) as although I own 2 modern bikes my favourite bike is my old Yamaha two stroke even though any modern bike will be faster and handle better
At least there are as you say electric bikes available already that are decent

I've had many bikes over many years, each one in my opinion was defined by its engine.

Just saying :/

I'm hoping to get down to the local stockist of electric motorcycles (as opposed to scooters/pushbikes etc.) at some point. I love the sound that the Triumphs make but the idea of an electric option appeals IF the riding experience can match up. Gotta be better than a stinkwheel!!! :P:P:P:P

Nooooo :p

Images of the incoming Triumph Tiger 1200 have leaked. Like the Tiger 900 range, the colours are rubbish!

They save the nice colours for the Bonnies! :P

Some moron tried to steal my bike at 4.40 this morning, I say moron because he broke the steering lock before discovering how many locks and chains I have on it :/

As useless as steering locks are I think I'll have to get it fixed for insurance purposes, doubt it will be cheap. No other damage though so it could have been worse.

Of course I'm now wondering what other security I can add, perhaps I should take the wheels off when I park it ...

HUGE dog? Bieving thastards will try nicking anything and will sometimes just f*** it up when they can't nick it. I'm told we're not allowed to wire the bike to the live side of the mains.

I removed the annoying alarm from mine when I bought it, I just use an Almax chain and Squire lock, not cheap but not easy to overcome either.

i have a couple of serious chains and a disk lock on mine, it has its own dedicated cctv with a pir that pings to my phone and its fitted with a tracker, set to sensitive...takes me bloody ages to get on it in the morning but thats how it is nowadays, too many scroats knocking about with impunity..ive got a dog...but its a bijon frise and im not sure what kind of damage it could inflict :p

Check with your insurer. If they have record of everything else you use they may not insist on the steering lock being replaced.

Yeah, waiting to hear from them.

BMW main dealer labour charge is £100 per hour, includes VAT though so that's OK :/

Might be worth asking on any BMW forums to see if it's a viable DIY job.

The pre-op for my knee surgery is imminent (21st December) so I will be out next friday for probably my last ride for a whilst...weather is looking OK up to now but come rain hail or shine il be going...no riding for a couple of months will kill me but it will be worth it in the end

Enjoy the ride!

Riding the motorways was fun today. Sometimes I was really having to lean into the wind. All good fun though. Enjoyed Motorcycle Live, though it wasn’t that big. Got to ride a Tiger Rally around the adventure track. Lots of nice bikes on display!

Did you notice if the Triumph 660 Sport was there? It's a very strong option for my next bike.

All the Triumphs are there. To be honest I walked past it without checking it out because I was more interested in seeing the new Tiger 1200 in the flesh.

Good luck!
I've had my shoulder op, and like you won't be riding at all for a while, but the positive is that I'm in less pain than I've been in for years (literally, about 3) so let's hope you have a similar experience.

GL with that :)

Once crossed the Humber bridge in similar conditions, it was OK until I came to the towers and the wind was briefly removed resulting in massive swerves!

I’m loving this new Ducati.

I like the way adventure bike styling is evolving with more manufacturers doing away with the “beak”.
We’ve seen new models from Aprilia, Ducati, Yamaha, Husqvarna and HD that don’t feature it.
Much more aesthetically pleasing!

I like the look, reminds me of the KTM 640 Adventure.

Agree I’ve always thought that type of front mudguard was ugly

Two or three months in, and just passed the 1500 mile mark... absolutely LOVE this bike!
