Last year I bought a monitor from NRG on ebay, when it arrived it didnt work as the cable they supplied was the wrong one. I called them up and briefly mentioned that there was a bump on the screen as well but that it could be cleaned off. Anyhow I was more interested in getting the monitor to actually work.
The new cable arrived and it has been working fine, over the last few months however its been flickering and randomly the left side of the screen has strange pink waves over the textures.
Its pretty hard to see but its a perfect line down the middle of the screen and it happens totally randomly. I usually notice it more when in a game or editing dark pictures.
Turning the screen off doesnt help and its usually there when it comes back on.
Sometimes i'll go for a few days and not see it then its back for a while.
I've changed cables and gfx card, even used just 1 monitor and it still pops up.
As their ebay listing said 1 years warrenty I sent it back which cost £15 however they told me that they cant seem to see the problem when running their tests. Its possible that there could be something loose inside and the trip back the office has changed it.
Im slightly worried they are going to just mail it back and i'll have lost the £15 and still have a faulty screen.
They also mentioned that because they were not told about the dot on the screen when I recieved it then there isnt anything they can do about it.
1. I should have taken a picture of the screen when it was going wrong
2. I should have made more of a fuss over the mark on the front.
however what can I do? I suppose ebay or paypal have a buyer protection? but after 5 months?
