I saw a mini traveller for the first time today.
What on earth were BMW thinking of, do people really buy these, I think in that version the Mini is ruined.
Which British car would that be?Despite my user name i drive an 07 BMW MINI Cooper S. And it is a great car. It has the build quality of a German car (something that a British car can only dream of) .
Which British car would that be?
My point exactly!Honda Civic ??
Nissan Micra ??
(VW) Rolls Royce ??
The Mini is built and assembled in the UK, it may have a German parent, but it is essentially a UK car.
Did you know that, including the Mini factories, BMW actually have 5 manufacturing plants in the UK ????
Anyway, buy a Focus, you'll be better off and get a better drive !
Steve
BTW is it called a clubman or a traveller ?.

Would not want a focus, i would rather drive a coffin! Ford just churn out cars with no fun factor in them.

BMW's over rated, over priced and under specced.
they dont even come with indicators as standard:bonk:

The Focus has one of the best handling chassis in it's class.
The MINI is by no means little.

Just a thought though. Lets look at a couple of cars that evolved over time. VW Golf and Polo. Ford Fiesta. Now lets look at the shapes of those cars when they first hit the market, and the latest shape of them. All of them are larger in size and look like completely different cars.
Which you dont have a lot of![]()

So who's to say what design road the mini could have gone down in the last 10 years since the classic (i think the last reg was 99) if BMW had not got their hands on it.

what are the brakes like? bit over kill are they not
TBH i love the new mini and clubman...............
i went to a rolling road day the other month and a Cooper S went on before me and it sounded awesome and gave good power - shocked me! i would love to drive one to see what there like![]()
I had an '07 Mini Cooper S, and found it to be not that good. The handling is biased too far towards saftey, there are too many "Driving Aids" eg. Traction Control, and ESP. The tyres are too hard, and not grippy enough, and because of insurance regulations, you HAVE to use Runflats or you risk invalidating your insurance premium, and they only last about 10-12000 miles, and cost £120+ each.
