<div class="bbWrapper">Hello<br /> <br /> I&#039;ve lost a lot of our home video due to a PC loss, and want to transfer them to a Mac now... It&#039;s a Sony DV camcorder, but I don&#039;t seem to be able to transfer/capture on the Mac. I&#039;ve purchased a new DV to USB firewire cable... but anyone any suggestions as to my next steps?</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Never had any joy with the usb type capture devices, had to use a FireWire cable and connectors to copy all my ones to the PC.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Or as a last resort pay a company to transfer them to a hard drive.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Did you find a solution?</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">I did not! Many things got in the way (notably my health, which now says use your time to get these memories saved).<br /> <br /> On Mini-DV alone, I have over 40 tapes, so paying someone to transfer them totalled over £350, and that was the cheapest I could find.<br /> <br /> The Sony camcorder I have just won&#039;t connect with PC or Mac, and I&#039;ve bought new cables. The firewire I have has a USB end.</div>
