Just heard on the news that we can expect to see meteors showers tonight and tomorrow, if the skies are clear, best time to see them is between 9pm and 11pm

loads of star trail shots forecast on TP

Fingers crossed for clear skies then!!

Can be quite a display. Last year was pretty good.

I'll be standing out in the garden all night, freezing my nads off probably :D

According to Spaceweather the peak time is just before dawn - up to 200 meteors an hour.
Looks like the South West may have too much cloud, but those further East may get a spectacular display.

That'll be about 0400. I'll be in the Land of Nod (hopefully).

Even if the sky is clear many of these astronomical events have a habit of not living up to expectations.

The Perseid meteor shower peaks tomorrow night, but has been going on for about a week or so, and will continue for another week.

The problem will be once the moon gets up, you are very much less likely to see any.... this is of course assuming you can find anywhere clear of cloud pollution...

I'd love to see some, but didn't last year... washed out... looks like this year is going to be the same.

In work till 11, but as I'm on the bar I get loads of free time. Will take my Camera with me!

Seen a few shooting stars last night and it was very clear. No chance tonight as it's pouring with rain and clouds down at 200 feet.

I'll be out looking for them - and wifey will think I'm off my rocker ( again ! )

blue sky here today, 22 degrees aswell - lovely stuff (should be out on our boat! :()

it is raining and a very dull grey sky, cloudy so it looks a no go for me I'll have to see what tomorrow nights like, shame as I was looking forward to it as I missed it last year through clouds, anyway I aint give up maybe it will clear up, look forward to seeing the images that you get

clear skies and wispy clouds here too now :D

Supposed to me more cloud cover closer to dawn and the moon is 70% so its going to be very bright.

Best results I think are going to be 2-3am and looking northeast if poss!

I'll be in the garden tonight. Garden faces north east and at the moment there's not a cloud in the sky here. Although if next doors dog doesn't shut up i'll try and take a few from the window of my cell!:bang:

Thanks for the heads up Dave
Currently 25oC and clear
Rain showers forecast for tomorrow so it looks as though tonight will be "my"
best chance

Likewise Dave - cheers for that . Clear skies and no light pollution here in Dunchurch - fingers crossed!!!!!

I'm in Glasgow, Blue sky for now, but plenty of cloud looming :(:bang: always miss these types of things

We will hopefully get some good shots to look at from other members as Blackburn looks errr black.

Cloudy with thunderstorms here tonight (just my luck, first rain we've had in about a month :p), but probably clear tomorrow night - quite up for having a go at this.

I had a go at photographing the 2007 Perseids and I wrote up my experience (with some helpful DOs and DON'Ts) here.
